    2.22 finished. Need more!!

Simply stunning stuff. A phenomenal reimagining.

    Just, well, WOW!!

    Only 2 things that niggle

    1. Not enough Maki. 2. Enough Asuka. Ooh, and Misato promising plenty more fan service too. Works for me!!

OMG just watched 2.22. My mind was completly blown, fing incredible. Can't wait for the next part!

Did you guys watch the part after the end credits?

When Kaoru says "I will make you happy this time Shinji?" I was thinking before he mentioned this, that the series of events are just getting replayed over and over and this time things are getting better for them. Like Shinji's confidence, Toji picking up his sister, Asuka in Unit 03 and even surviving for example. Like a Parallel Universe/Multiverse, like the Angels are trying to reach their perfect outcome etc. Knowing that though, Eva is probably misleading me and teasing my brain again!

After quite a few months break i finally caught up on Naruto shippuuden, it's off the scale now. Naruto Vs Pain battle is epic. God want to see it all noooow, Pain is an appropriate name as he is getting an ass whupping of a lifetime.

I should probably watch Shippuden. I enjoyed Naruto a lot more than I thought I would.

However all the spoilers I've read seem to indicate that everything's become dominated by sharingans

After the pain arc it goes all Sasuke:Shippuden for a good while, still never gets as bad as Bleach.

Angel Beats ep9-10 -the main plot of the story got going now

after winning over the Angel, really liked Otanshi full death flashback which was pretty sad dying just as the rescue team turn up after giving hope and aid to those around him in the crash. And now he's on a mission to save his friends from wondering around inthe afterlife, didn't really find the Yui one emotional until right at the end, i liked her character along with her relationship with Hinita and that bit when get her last wish and he comes running on to tell her he'll marry her anytime, anywhere, anyhow got me

At the risk of sounding like a right plum, what is this Eva you are discussing? I'm looking it up on the ANN encyclopedia but I'm just getting the Evangelion shows and the movies, is it a new series in the NGE universe?

its a series of new movies.
i think the first 3 are a retelling of the original series. and the fourth will be an all new ending... something like that.

the first two are out, with i think slightly different cuts for the first one. which is the weird 1.01, 1.11 stuff. as far as i know the second one is just 2.22. it is a bit confusing.

The new movies are a retelling or

a follow up to End of Evangelion

                  .

The best way of watching Eva is to watch platinum, then end of Evangelion, then the movies.

After watching that real life won't seem quite so messed up...

Is it this weekend the new season starts?

Really looking forward to Mitsudomoe which looks great from the trailers (praying it's more Azumanga than Kodomo no Jikan).

Not sure if I want to watch Highschool of the Dead or not. Seinen writers seem to often take great pleasure in being as cruel as possible to their characters.

Black Lagoon's new series is covering the second Roberta arc which should be awesome. Hoping they manage to squeeze in the new Greenback Jane arc too.

It's annoying that the Sora no Otoshimono special isn't out until September. Still, at least it should be followed by a new series.

Can somebody recommend a good anime film or short series to watch?

I grew up watching all the usual ones (Akira, FotNS etc) and don't really have time to watch a massive series, so a short one or stand-alone film would be great.

Don't be suggesting no love stories, gimme something with fighting or robots and the like. I heard the latest Macross was really hard work so didn't bother with it.

Is Afro Samurai any good? What about Yukikaze?

                        Comment

                          Gunbuster then Diebuster/Gunbuster 2

                          Giant Robo (cheesy goodness)

FLCL (slightly trippy but really great)

Hellsing ultimate (vampires rather than robots but it's pure concentrated awesome). It's far better than the TV series.

While i do like Yukikaze alot great art, animation and sound, though it has alot of walking, talking and not much going on around 1 or 2 big set pieces an episode. There's also undertones of Yaoi going on which got in the way of me liking the 2 lead characters, one had love the polit(it seems) and the pilot loves his plane(A.I.). Other than that it has a mind melting plot that gets crazier as it goes on, the jist is humans with a foothold on an alien planet are losing a war against an enemy that evolves and learns and the last episode is a totally mental.

Couple of show are ending now to make way for the new season,

Durarara - had to say i enjoyed the wrap up, its a rare show that ends well without finishing the story.

They all found out about each other, Kida got Saki back, Mikado kind of gets Anri, Izya gets punched in the face(woo) and Shizo's off his trolly. Look foward to a new season if they make one.

Working - disappointed it ended for now, but seemed popular enough with the jp's to get another season.

Liked that Sota, sort let slip that he likes maddog Inami after hanging around her all the time it seems he my have subconsciously developed feeling for her, and im glad the show never went the way of PoplarXSota and loved all the interactions bewteen the staff.

Angel Beats - really strange way to the end the show with Yuri playing 4th chair at the end, which i quite liked.

Anyway apart from the stupid ending arc and nearly all but 5 characters getting off screen 'peace' nearly ruinning the show, it saved it with the final 5 saying good bye to each to other, loved the bro moment between Otonashi and Hinata who surprisingly got 3rd place which put a massive smile on my face, and Kanade revealing she had been given otoanshi heart was a nice shock, i had totally forgot about him being a donor.

Felt that show could have done with being 23/24 eps so we got a good look at the other characters and them finding there 'peace'. Anyway Liked the premise, most of the characters but felt let down by the last story feeling like they ranout of ideas and time.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou - Well this went a million miles an hour inthe last 5, pulling entire story arcs out of nowwhere and finishing them the same episode, totally barmy, the lead went from unwilling kind demon king into a complete nutter in half an ep, the story made not a lick of sense at all until right at the end where they finally took a 5 min exposition to explain everything then finish up with strange half re-write of the last 4/5eps in the memory of the characters. I blame the lack of Light green for the drop in quality for the last half of the show.

B Gata H Kei - that last 2 episodes had me me in tears with laughter and an equal measure of cringing. From them trying to get it on the party girls bed to the Love motal, just reminded me alot of american pie'esk teen film.

Naruto Shippuuden 165 - don't usually talk of naruto around here but i have to say i really enjoyed all the anime extras they threw into this 'fight' making Hinata looks less useless by having a gameplan to remove the rods. Manga the section last about 15 seconds, so they padded it out massivily and it was much better for it, loved the her final line "my way" followed by pain's flick of the wrist.

K-on!! remains being ace, loved the music festival in ep12, so much detail in little things that made it seem like people that make this show have been and done some of these things, about the only thing that was missing was toilet queues, people peeing up a bushes and drinking.

New series of To-Love-Ru announced. Will be done by the Ladies vs Butlers/Kanokon staff which'll probably mean they manage to make it even more of a fanservice fest.

Hope they either go back and animate more manga chapters or actually give the story a proper ending. Surprised it's happening given the writers (apparently) rather vindictive wife.
