Also that looks like the end of the arc and a time jump, the previews for next ep makes Kai look a good few years older than he was which should match him up with the opening intro's running man that kind of looks like Kai but more manly. Interested in what the hellt hat solider with the american flag on his chest is about.

In the preview the subs suggest one year has passed. Looking forward to it now, which must be a first for a Blood+ episode in a long while. Ep 32 was great, loads of fighting, it was almost non stop throughout the episode. Didn't see the Riku death coming, I thought someone was going to die as they'd been banging on about the three of them going back etc... which is never a good sign. I actually thought it might have been Kai that bit the dust. Hopefully with the timeskip he'll be a lot more useful as he did get on my nerves at times up to this point.

Was also wondering how they were going to last for another 20 episodes, as the current episode suggested they were setting themselves up for a big finale.

Also saw the other two new shows. Kamisama Kazoku is light fluff with a bit of romance in there. Seems to be a triangle forming here. I enjoyed the first episode, some decent laughs to be had. Nothing spectacular IMO but it makes a lovely replacement for Kage Kara Mamoru so I'll keep watching for the time being. It's only 13 episodes long anyway apparently.

Demonbane - Not quite sure what to think at this point. The first episode didn't exactly hook me in any way. Seems to be a mecha show with a gothic/magic twist. Not horribly bad so I'll give it another couple of episodes before deciding. Can't say either of the two shows are definitely worth watching unless your into either of the genres, which I am with Kamisama Kazoku.

@saif: I would suggest Fullmetal Alchemist the manga as it is supposed to be different enough from the anime to warrant reading it, and also Death note which I believe was serialized in Shonen Jump so the reading level shouldn't be too high. The story also is pretty good where I'm at(only a couple of volumes in) though I hear it goes down the crapper in later volumes. Also I'd second the other suggestions so far. 20th Century Boys is bloody ace as well but I'm not sure what sort of reading level group that is aimed at, worth checking out anyway.

FMP: second raid OVA ? top,top ?action?? im not a big Tessa fan (like Chidori more), but that was some dam fine fan service of the highest order, so much teasing, comedy and cuteness. I really enjoyed the ?day in the life of? bits, with Weber and the Karolin having the best bits.

Soul Link ep8, animation has become worse DSAmezzo, so, so many still where characters are standing still and just having there lips move, which is made even worse by very bad art it?s almost a makes a comedy the amount of times I laughed during a serious moment.

It was a nice jungle, then came Guu ep1-7, can?t remember its Japanese name but this show is ace, the interaction between the boy and Guu is ace, not sure if they can keep the comedy going with some sort of major change in the story for 26eps..

Air gear manga 1-62, So much better anime which seems to be picking and choosing parts of the manga to make it own story (very much like Airmaster) and the fan service is better . The current story where they fighting the first major Stormrider team as Ikki?s team is very enjoyable, and the first time we?re it just a 1v1 fight, instead of a race.

not watched many of the newer, newer show's. I can remember watching the very forgettable Demonbane

        Suzumiya Haruhi ep9 -

Well the episode was more slice-of-life than anything we've seen in the series so far. I'd liken it to an episode of Aria really although with less cute and fluffy bits . Some nice little links back to previous adventures, such as the pictures of the remote island story arc stuck on the wall in the club room plus the baseball gear stuffed in a box. Also some stuff we haven't seen which I've been reading comes up in other story arcs such as the frog suit. Kyon had that one line where he wised he was still awake when he realised that Mikuru had been changing next to him which I thought was pretty funny. Also laughed at the covering up of her getting changed by Yuki taking books off the bookshelf constantly.

In a way it showed that they're not always up to crazy stuff in the club room. The episode as I mentioned was very slow paced. I could have done without that 3 minute scene of Yuki in the club room though. There was loads of stuff on the radio which were probably references to loads of anime and stuff but I didn't have a clue to be honest. Completely passed my by. Seems the very first episode where we saw the movie they made comes before this one as they mention it a few times. Particularly liked the mention of adding in bonus fanservice content for the DVD(perhaps taking a stab at the studios own addition of the FMP OVA just recently released?) of the movie and mention of a possible sequel. Then there was the the use of the nurse and frog suits to provide new shots for the cover of the limited edition DVD

Some nice scenes at the end involving Haruhi and Kyon as well to end it with. As a final episode( if that is what it's supposed to be for this season of the show) it was pretty decent. It doesn't really end in anyway making it pretty obvious they've got loads more material to come. At least they didn't shove in anything really contrived to try and conclude it themselves. Gives hope for future seasons at least. Again I'd liken it to Aria in that respect, whereby it recaps certain events that occurred during the series and seems to carry on as normal for the episode without really "finishing" things off. Not the best episode in the series but still entertaining enough for me(bar the 3 minute scene with Yuki).

Also been watching Planetes which is bloody ace. Combining bits of my favourite genres(scifi, slice of life shows), likeable characters, ace music, good comedy/drama/action scenes, top setting, good animation etc... Can't believe I didn't watch it sooner. One of my favourite episodes so far(up to ep 12) has to be episode 6 with the ninjas. So many great moments in that episode alone

Got quite a bit to catch up on, namely Eureka7, Ergo proxy, Tokko, Utawarerumono, Kamisama kazoku, and witchblade.

Aye planetes is really good, starts loosing it?s comedy and goes way, way serious as Headband guy gets closer to his dream, to the point it?s pretty much all about him with other characters losing there way or getting injured. Don?t want say anymore than that as you?ll be tempted to read the spoilers for the aceness that about to happen.

            Ergo Proxy 7-9 -

Finally some explanation to the deal with proxies. Didn't expect Real to "die" at the end of episode 7 either. Wonder if she's gone for good or if she'll make a comeback. Some nice action scenes in there as well which were well animated. Shame they haven't been able to keep the animation at the same quality as the first episode. Some inconsistent animation in ep7 particularly Real's face which looked a bit weird. I only complain because for the most part it's so good that when it drops it's really noticeable.

Eureka7 ep 38 - Filler episode for all intents and purposes, but had it's moments. The misunderstandings throughout the episode had me laughing for example. What I expected really, it should get going again as we head towards the final few episodes. I'm looking forward to it.

Nana ep6-7 - Episode 6 was disappointing because it was basically a recap of the first episode with a few new scenes thrown in. Episode 7 finished off the first episode recap(thank god) and got started on the stuff I was looking forward to after episode 1 which seems so long ago.

Loved the bit where pink Nana thought up this imaginary city girl Sachiko that Shouji was having an affair with. Loved the reactions to pink Nana's friends meeting Nana O for the first time, especially from the guys.

. I watched ureshii's subs of ep6 and IY-f&Oki's subs of ep7. Both decent but I would have preferred the Live-Evil version but unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll be seeing that anytime soon. Will probably replace the others with L-E's if they release it.

            Higurashi ep4 -

Keichi's apparently dead but from what I'm told we see a series of slightly different takes on the first scenario being played out, so it ain't the end of him yet. The main theory at the moment seems to be that Keichi's delusional and he's seeing things which might not be there otherwise e.g. Alot of the creepy encounters seem to happen when he's alone with one or two of those girls and there's no-one else around, perhaps suggesting he's imagining everything in the first place. The attempted threat on his life by the van driver in ep2 or 3 I think it was, only Keichi was around. The scene with Rena in this episode where she went mental as well, it was just the two of them at the time. Some really creepy stuff again in this episode the scene with Rena for example and also we get to see how that stuff in the first few seconds of episode 1 happened, which made for a brutal death for the girls. Voice acting was top notch as well, really added to some of the scenes, especially the ones involving Rena

Triad finally released the subs of ep4 which is what I watched. Can't believe I'm the only one seemingly following this series here. It's gotten better and better since the first episode. This episode in particular was probably the best yet. I'm tempted to go with wind's subs since they're the furthest in the series.

Black Lagoon ep6, what a blood bath with Revi going bananas

on the neo-nazi?s. Not a single one of them spared, and that chilling bit with the SS officer on the phone to Dutch. Got bit strange with the Large guy and his Gold Luger?

Bleach and Naruto anime continue to be crap.

              Suzumiya Haruhi ep9 ? enjoyable

, liked Haruhi getting Kyon out the way so she could use Asahina, and Itsuki standing up and walking out of the room every time Haruhi stripped Asahina. Nice bit at the end with Haruhi showing her soft side for Kyon, so is this 13ep long? with ep14 just being numbered for the sake of it. If so I do hope we get more of it like Aria.

              Comment

I think Suzumiya Haruhi is 14 episodes long, if we include the first episode in the count as well. So I reckon we've got 5 episodes left, certainly like you I'm hoping we get more although I'm not sure we'll see anymore as quickly as we saw more Aria(which was what about 3 months or so after the first season finished). Kyoto Animation are doing a remake of the Kanon anime for the fall season so unless they're a really big studio I don't think we'll see more Haruhi until next year at least. Plus I also want to see them doing more Full Metal Panic anime as well, they did a great job with Fumoffu and Second Raid. It's a tough choice, more Haruhi or more FMP by them, 'cos one is going to have to come before the other. If I had to choose I'd probably go for more FMP first then Haruhi afterwards, as it's been almost a year since the last full season of FMP aired whereas Haruhi is still ongoing at the moment.

Gunbuster 2 ep5 - OMG! I'd forgotten how gorgeous this looked. Totally fantastic animation throughout. Huge scale battle in there like the last episode but this time even bigger.

So basically the space monsters are an evolved form of a defense system setup by humanity in the first place, the buster corps. The reason they attacked humanity was that they detected similar things in them relative to the variable gravity wells i.e. the topless. Basically this episode the topless are down and out, they've been proven useless against the real space monsters and they're too dangerous to be running around using their powers, as the Buster Corps might attack them mistaking them for the VGWs. Plus there's only I think two left, Lark and that other girl in the hospital since Nicola lost his powers and the twins are dead. They really seem to be looked down upon in this ep, notice the scene on the bridge of that ship where Lark's told to leave.

So many brilliant moments packed into that 30 minutes or so. The bit at the end for example, looks like Nono is building a larger version of herself to possibly fight that huge space monster that warped out of there. You can make out the nose and chin kind of, in the last shot if you look at it sideways. The battle as mentioned was awesome, planets moving loads of **** blowing up. It was just great to watch IMO, never mind trying to take in the plot developments. Nono seems to know Noriko in some way e.g. when she's first discovered she says "No..No..ri..ri..ko" and also refers to Lark as being similar to Nonoriri, because she's just a "normal girl". Also Diebuster to appear in the next episode apparently.

. Picks up where ep4 left off really. Worth waiting for. Although I think I might have to rewatch 1-5 before I watch the sub of ep6(whenever that comes out) as I've forgotten quite a bit.

Gunbuster ep4. I really enjoyed that episode, not as much ep4 though, that had better surprises and bigger action,

but you can?t help but have big grin on your face watching Dix-Neuf exotic manoeuvre, of bending space to grab a planet, throw it into the new massive real space monster totally rocked. Not sure what to make of that thing Nono?s making with the Buster Corps, I assuming a huge space ship or something. I?m hoping in ep6 we get to see Nono?s origin which would include Noriko and the over Women which would be a great tip of the hat towards Gunbuster. And if Buster Machine 2 does turn up like you say rumour?s say, I hope it helps save the day.

                    BUSTER BEAM!!!.

Strawberry Panic ep9 ? Eek! That was sickening cute,

Nagisa getting scared from the ghost stories and requesting to sleep with her roommate. And finding out a bit more about the ShizumaXEtiole relationship.

                      Gunbuster 2 ep5 - As I said earlier

if you look at it closely you can see a nose and face forming. Obviously it's not conclusive until we see the next episode but the general thinking is that she's making a huge version of herself to perhaps fight that huge space monster, one on one, since beam weapons don't affect it at all. Back to basics, in other words. Straight up hand to hand combat or something. Perhaps a huge version of Nono's Onee-sama kick from the first episode?

I'd agree that the surprises weren't as big in this episode. I mean really it's hard to match that development in ep4, that's for sure.

Forgot about School Rumble ep8 ? Some proper top stuff with the basketball training,

Souh?s sensing a great pressure and it turning out to be Imadori sticking close to her, Nurse/Coach nicknaming Souh as ?D? before changing it and Lala as Gori. I think I also have new contender for best girl? but can?t remember her dammed name, the little basketball girl with super soft voice and easily give Eri and Yakumo a run for their money . Liked the whole setup for the rejects and its bound to super freaking good with a team for Imadori, Harmia, at class D guy(that?s not Harry) and ?Ace? Tenma? still that leaves them needing a 5th person.

                        Galactic BOMBER!

                        Comment

The basketball girl? Her name's Satsuki. Can't say I've seen enough of her to put her up their with Eri or Yakumo yet. Perhaps after a couple of episodes maybe. Ep8 was good, won't bothering repeating since you covered most points. Sets us up nicely for the match in ep9 which I shall be watching shortly.

Finished Lamune recently as well. Really liked the show overall, probably one of my favourite h-game to anime conversions. No immensely stupid out of character actions for the sake of drama like Shuffle and know stupid wtf? ending like Canvas2(which otherwise would probably have taken the top spot) and no stupid Aisia which is what ruined DCSS for me after it had a good start(also I guess them bringing back Nemu as it left no chance for Kotori). I've yet to see Air though so this may change when I watch that show, as loads of people rave about it. The only thing I'd change about Lamune if I could is give it better animation and perhaps a higher budget so it looks nicer, also perhaps have a timeskip plus a wedding scene for the two of them. The first couple of episodes and the last couple had decent animation, in the middle though it was quite poor Suzuka levels of face morphing from scene to scene.

Air is crap, great art and some nice characters but the story is poorly told(even though its decent) with to much crap tacked on that has nothing to do with the main theme and relationships with the other girls are rubbish and the ending is sad one for the sake of it, unless the movie retelling of the tv series changed that. It one of those Unchangeable destinies for there current lives cursed by a former life to set the next incarnation free.

Agreed on DCSS, Aisia only decent bit in the show for me was the very last scene of her coming back. And although Nemu was my firm fav last series(because they could the story and characters right, with a balance of pure crazy and lazy Aria style it worked), was made to look a desperate fool and her 2 year absence and taken for granted relationship with Asakura would make anyone cheer for Kotori (which i did)

                            School Rumble ep9 ?

Satsuki, got way to much of cute voice and her confessing to that ?Slow? guy was class (even if you could see it coming miles off), sad she seemed to give up on him at the end to let Souh in for some reason. Lala voice makes me laugh every time, and she got a lot of sentences this time, the pitch between the shouting of key words id excellent . Star of the ep was a close one? either Imadori for putting up and unexpected effort or that Class D-2 guy with pretty much every he say?s and does.

                            Kiba ep4 to ep10 ? I don?t know why I keep watching this show I know it just a Digmon with spirits;

I blame the ending credits for being ace. Although it has steady improved and become a lot more ruthless, I still totally dislike the main lead Zed, the guy is a total asshole, always looking to start something with anyone and a complete selfless bastard and a weak fool at that. I?m pinning my hope on the rest of the cast and Noah to carry the show for me.

Can I just ask the name of an anime, it's like initial d and is sold on yesasia, but I can't remember the name of it

                              any ideas?

Any more info you can give? Admittedly racing animes are not exactly my specialty so I might not know anyhow. One suggestion though is to check out anidb.net and search for Initial D. Under genres it'll have couple of links, looking at the Initial D page now it has links to Action, Cars, Romance, School genres. I guess you could try those out and check all the anime that provides and see if you find anything.
