2 more series ended in the last day.

Pumpkin Sisscors - Clearly not the end for the show, more like a begining. Malvin put on a good performance for the final story arc and i was smiling whatever she did. Orland really didn't have much to do beside flick on lantern and go all crazy on the Royal body guard(and ouff! taking a Morning Star to the head with sickening thuds, multiple times). Looking forward to whenever it returns with a second season.

Red Garden - shinsen went nuts with the releases, ep19-22 in 3 days ending the story(almost!). Real darkhorse of last season, right behind DeathNote and Code Geass, it took a while for it find its legs with the girls being way to emotional early on and rather helpless. But they turned in to right little tough killing machines by the end.

Shame the final episode didn't feature more of the headmistress, and that teacher fighting the Dores but did kind of make up for it with Herve going totally bananas, the punishment he took from a vengeful Lulu(noooo Lulu!) and still had the strength to carry on = wow! I'm alittle disppointed with the ending after all that, nothing of the curse was fully explained, Lisa ended up dying(why? wasn't near death) and nothing was shown as to whether or not the girls kept there memory, but all is not lost seems we get a OVA in october.

Also what the heck happened to Emilo? he didn't turn up for the fight.

I think its just Bosou Renkin, DeathNote and Code Geass to go.

to save me sifting through pages of stuff any chance somebody can rate Afro Samurai

downloaded the 5 episodes after seeing Japanarama and it looks pretty decent

just saves me bothering if its poor - but the animation looks similiar to champloo

I enjoyed it, the animation is great and it does just ooze "coolness", however the story is pretty standard Samurai fare, so it depends how many others of a similar vein you have seen recently.

Does anyone know if C1 have stopped doing Nodame Cantabile, I can never get MKV files to work so cannot use any of the episodes the other groups have ripped. C1 are about 3 episodes behind now!

They haven't dropped it. If they did there would be an announcement on their site. They're just behind that's all and it could be for any number of reasons unfortunately that's just the way it goes. I would suggest you find some way to get the mkvs working as you might be limited to the subs you can watch. I use CCCP + Media Player Classic and apart from one or two issues that setup has played everything I've thrown at it. You don't even need that, AFAIK you need a splitter for matroska and the correct codecs installed on your computer and you should be good to go.

I've been using Media Player Classic, but when I downloaded a codec pack including the ones for MKV files it has now just turned every file into a redscale mess, including AVI's, WMV, MPG, etc when I try to play them. Anyone know what could be causing this as I now have no way to watch anything properly, the codec seems to have had the same effect on VLC media player too.

Best episode to date for me. And, it's been consistently strong throughout, although I was worried the series would lose momentum for a moment with the introduction of the Yotsuba bunch, but I've been proved wrong and the last few minutes were extremely tense.

Who woulda thunk Watari would've been such a crack sniper!!?! Great stuff... really not sure where they're going to go from here now, can't wait to find out though.

i've got matroska media pack on my computer but if i try and remove it none of my other media players work - there is no sound, just picture

and the only thing i can put it down to is a haali media splitter thats in the matroska codec

without Haali on my computer its pretty much useless (i use real player)

If it was the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) then I would suggest going along to their irc channel and telling the people in their your problem. It might take a while to find out what the problem is and fix it so I would only suggest going along if you have the time for it. I forget which network it is but it's either on chatsociety or chatspike (I think it's the former) and the channel is #cccp IIRC. All the info is on their site anyway. Personally I think it's the best way to sort it out as you'll be able to get the help in real time and other than a few bog standard things I don't know much that would probably help.

That's the case on all files? Have you tried files with different audio codecs? e.g. vorbis, aac, ac3 etc... perhaps you might just be missing an audio codec (possibly a really stupid suggestion but worth a try I suppose).

you're probably correct

only tried .AVI files on windows media, quicktime, real player and divx

with haali installed they all play a treat, remove haali and they all play but with no sound

even if i remove and install the complete media player again

watched the last episode of kiba today.

kind of mixed feelings about the whole thing. its one of those shows that i kept considering dropping, but in the end carried on as i'd watched so many episodes anyway. i enjoyed most of it, but i couldnt recomend it to anybody.

Enjoyed Kiba all the way up until the ending, I think i just expected to much after enjoyable season, all we really got was a few cameo from past characters and a quick fight but ...

Holy mess, so many characters in this episode and at then end Zero gets his plans fecked up by the princess... I expect evil Lelouch to turn up next episode and put an end to Euphie setting up a very angery Suzaku vs Zero for the finale. Sadly i had it kind of spoiled for me after seeing a pic of ep22(dam you 4chan) and OMFG i can't miss this.

Genshiken ep14 - Felt a bit close to home this with all the clothes shopping, i just dislike the whole process, still it had me laughing with a mainly Saki/Madarame (my fav characters) based episode.. looks like Madarame falling for Saki the more she dips herself into the otaku life style . Shame there's only 1 more episode left

Wow, just wow, what a mess Lelouch has caused. Bet he's going to have to start wearing an eye patch now when he's not dressed up as Zero Wonder what was going on with Suzaku. Great stuff, can't wait for the next episode.
