5 cm/s - That was lovely. An hour packed full of the kind of thing I adore, topped off with some absolutely breathtaking visuals and animation, lovely music and the characters weren't bad too. If there is one thing, it's the ending.
Just made me. I'd have gone for something a lot more upbeat myself but as I've said many times I'm a sucker for happy endings. I did think that he might have tried a bit more, especially after he persevered with that epic train journey in the first chapter (which was probably my favourite of the lot). I had the same kind of feeling at the end of this as I did with H&C season 2 and more recently Genshiken season 2. I want more!
Hopefully Tokyo Marble Chocolate will pick me up a bit.

it's not that sad really. Granted it has the s characters never actually getting together but I thought it left it on a high note with the guy realising that he himself was tying himslf to the past too strongly and that he needs to accept that his inaction to try to stay with the other girl ultimately ended it for him. Which is why at the train crossing, when he sees the woman he believes to be his childhood girlfriend, he instead moves forward and away from her rather than running back to find her.
The thing I didn't like about the last episode was that it just seemed a bit of a short roundup rather than anything more...solid like the last 2 were. It gave a bit of his current life and then straight into a massive recap before it ended. Just a bit of a let down after the train and the rocket
Tokyo Marble will cheer you up.
Currently working my through the latest Shana 2 eps. 1 more before I'm up to date and things are finally getting going (hurrah!). They've carried the
Shana, Yuji and Yoshida triangle on for faaar too long.

Dunno, really. That made it plenty sad enough for me. The realization that he's going to move on just adds to it really. So gotta disagree there. It's not just that they won't get together, it's the whole going their own separate ways thing as well. I guess it's just a situation that strikes particularly close to home. I do this every time anyway, which is why I mentioned H&C season 2 as the situation is similar to that one, although obviously I've not been rooting for this to come about as much as I did in that show. And also to a lesser extent with Genshiken season 2. Like I said though, I'm weird like that
Tokyo Marble will cheer you up.

Moonlight Mile's second season episode 1 is out from Gray Phantom. I've got quite a lot of their old releases and they're quite good. Should be good enough for a watch at least, although I know there's not much of an option with regards to the second season of it. Thought some of you might like to know since I know a few of you are fans. For my part I'm probably going to wait for more episodes from the second season to come out before starting on it from the beginning of the first season.

Spice and Wolf ep 2: Much much better episode. there was a bit more of the "lol naked" stuff at the start but they quickly moved on from that and it got really quite interesting. Some nice interactions between Horo and Lawrence. There was a quote in that review Zapp linked about how Horo's really unpredictable in her moods as it were and this shows it off quite well.
The Op's grown on me too.
Edit: Shigofumi ep 1: Hmmm. Quite good. Very Shinigami no Ballad-esque. Didn't really understand the last bit of
where she stabs Shouta though unless it was because she's trying to silence him from talking about her killing her father.
I'll see how the next few eps go.Last edited by Mr.Jeff; 17-01-2008, 00:12.

You were scoffing at torrents. Groups that sub anime use torrents. That's a fact. Other people put them up on newsgroups.
What am I supposed to be giving you a reason for?Last edited by kryss; 17-01-2008, 00:26.

As for the other discussion, I don't think they're up on newsgroups "usually before" the torrents at all. I know of one or two groups who upload to newsgroups but that's usually at the time they release and so the episodes are often up at the same time or shortly after the torrent. Most groups don't even bother with usenet. It's just some people will download the releases from whatever method and then upload to the newsgroups and even they don't do it with all releases for that series so more often than not your stuck with one group regardless of their quality. So you're most likely getting the releases later and with very little choice as to which ones.
