Kino no tabi, great show... didn't think it was ever popular enough to get even a garage model release. Still you bastard, a Subaru model ;_; strikerS turned me in a Nanoha fan so im gonna have go hunt it down. Don't have the space myself nire than couple models.

Gundam00 ep16 - Not bad for half a recap show,

its almost certain to be Gundams Vs Thrones in the final but if this is following WING we need final uber mech like Epyon to turn up.

Nice collection. I particularly like the gunpla and Nanoha figures (the Fate one especially). I'm not really a figure man myself so most of my merchandise and stuff is DVDs/manga and I seem to have amassed quite a collection of JPN R2s without realizing it(my favourites being the Aria and Mushishi stuff, although the gurren lagann box looks nice too). But I have been thinking about dabbling in some gundam kits. I used to have a lot of fun putting together Warhammer stuff back in the day and painting it. Maybe when I have some more time on my hands, too much stuff to do as it is now...

yeah i love kino, got the boxset and am reading through the novels as and when tokyopop release them, still waiting on a dvd release of the films tho

im a rather large nanoha fan myself (well fate / subaru to be precise :P), if the fate & subaru figs, and the pre-order for rein wasnt a give away, im assuming you've seen the original and A'S, if not go do it now, A's is the best of the 3, also i think HLJ still has that subaru fig in stock, just checked and they do:

Subaru Nakajima, introduced in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, is the third character from the show to be immortalized as a prepainted PVC figure from Movic! This gorgeously detailed display piece has the tough fighter ready for action with her Revolver Knuckle and Mach Caliber roller blades about to spin off into the enemy's direction. Subaru measures 22cm to the top of her raised right fist. A display base and clear support base for each foot are provided to keep her upright on display. Highly recommended! Please note that figures such as this are mass produced and as a result some inconsistencies in finish and painting may occur; these are not considered manufacturer's defects. If you absolutely must have perfection, prepare to do some touch-up work on your own.

japan's been dicking around with shigofumi again, one channel has pre-empted ep6, an ep that apparently covers some bullying story, and isnt going to show it, hopefully it will just stay at the one channel and we'll still get it

but still twice to 1 show, first was the edit of ep 3 and now this, i wish they'd just leave it alone as its fast becoming my favourite show atm

            Comment

At least this time there's other channels still willing to air it so it won't be as bad as waiting for it to come out on DVD.

Wolf and Spice ep 5: Yet more good stuff. A decent explanation of what the scheme is/was and how it's played out and thankfully they steered away from

suddenly turning Lawrence into an all-action hero that rushes in with amazing sword skills to save Horo. I thought the scene with Chloe and Horo was amazingly well done though. Somehow Chloe seemed a lot more sinister and malicious saying she was going to hand over Horo to the church with a vague smile on her face rather than her walking in and essentially over-gloating. She's a proper jealous bitch.

It's amazing to note how often Horo goes through sudden mood swings in this series. Definitely makes for a more unpredictable and interesting character though.

Well, she wouldn't be a girl if she didn't do that, now, would she?

Yeah, I'm watching S&W too, and I have to admit that so far and despite the dodgy-sounding premise (a wolf girl? it's 1992 all over again! ), it's brilliant. Fun, well-told, refreshing and characters who actually use their brains -- what's not to like?

Also, sorry to bother you guys with that, but I have a request. Does anyone have a subtitles file (SRT, SSA, whatever) for Gurren-Lagann episode 5, or lacking that, somewhere I can download a properly-subtitled version of that ep? The one I have seems to have some kind of subtitle stream embedded within the AVI file (which is something that's not even supposed to be possible with the AVI container format -- they must have abused it badly to get it in), but none of the players I have at hand can read it.

If you search for "lagann" on tokyotosho one of the first few results should give you a torrent for a dvd version of episodes 1-5 using black-order's subs. Should be just what you're after. It's also what I've been archiving.

just watched the first couple eps of a rather amusing lil ova: Ryofuko-chan, the premise is a rather strange one, a couple of minor characters from Romance of the 3 kingdoms novel are transported to modern day japan, and at the same time turned into little 8 year old girls, cue a rather amusing slice of life style comedy as they try to adjust

although its not by shaft, it has a very similar feeling to their work, some of the cuts / direction style, and of course some of the background appearances (most of the Higurashi main cast show up at 1 point in ep 1) / jokes etc, only with alot more fanservice, its not quite moetan or Kodomo no Jikan levels of loli fanservice but its not far off, doesn't stop it being rather amusing tho

Cheers for those impressions. As with most stuff that seems to pop up on tosho, I had downloaded it without even really checking out what it was. Might even get round to it sooner than expected as the words slice, life, of and comedy had me intrigued

                        edit: Clannad ep 17 -

I could see the situation coming from a mile off when that girl told him how to break the charm but still that scene in the gym storage room was just gold In the end Kyou was almost ready to accept as well >_< Then the exchange with Sunohara at the end where he was trying to act cool almost stole the show . I love that guy, especially his reactions to being woken up. Shame about Nagisa being out of action but I guess that's an easy way for them to sideline her for a while to focus on the others. I do hope she gets better and comes back because that's one of the things I've liked about it. How no matter whose arc it is everyone is almost always around doing something. It seems like we're into Tomoyo's arc which is cool since after Nagisa she's possibly my next favourite. Although it's close between her and Kyou. As ever the episode just seems to fly by for me. Looking forward to seeing the outcome of his suspension

Fantastic episode again with some great scenes. Roll on episode 18.

Oh wow. Clannad 17 was just gold. Pretty much what Zap says, I could see it coming but the delivery of it was just superb. Tomoyo and Sunohara are amazing at adding comedic effect to some of the scenes. Liked the

Fuko scene near the end as well.

                            Great! Got it, cheers Zapp.

Clannad ep17 - indeed good stuff,

all the mention stuff above was great(tsu'kyou + gym = ) apart from Fuko'time which is getting unfunnier the more they use it.

But it makes me annoyed that Tomoya's head is just so packed full of Nagisa anything the other girls do just doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things even though i still love the show its telegraphed the ending so badly im gonna end up hating the show if the payoff for the Nagisa win isn't brilliant.

In an ideal world i would like to see Kyou win(now , it was Tomoyo ep2's ago) as she's easily the character with the most depth and doesn't have 'ugguu' to carry her to the fanbase... if only more harem's copied Shuffle! sucess, that show just got it right on so many levels like Clannad but kept you guessing on who would win right up until the last 3/4 eps and unlike Canvas2's messup, setup up winning girl
so correctly i wouldn't want it any other way, if Clannad doesn't have Nagisa winning i'll be seriously shocked.

From what I've heard (albeit very little since I'm not intentionally looking for spoilers), it was suppossed to be a bit more shuffle-esque to borrow your term. I don't really want to expand upon it while the series is still running and spoil it for you but this last section seems a bit of a mash really. I think they've spent a couple of episodes too many on Fuuko and Kotomi's arcs and have basically had to cut a lot of the stuff from the remaining 3. Sort of like how in Kanon

Nayuki really didn't get much of a look in at the end because they needed to foucs on Ayu's stuff.

Once the series ends and if you still care, I can post some of the more intriguing bits that should have happened and you can judge for yourself. I'd spoiler it but there's always the chance someone still might see it when quoting me. :P
