    Cheers. Surely is a pain!

Noticed that ebay have changed the way it displays results. Its pretty clumsy now, and more difficult to take the information in quickly.

Dont count on that clearing date dude!!

I had an item that finally cleared about a week after the expected clearing date. U may also have to check into your PP account to check whether its cleared or not because PP dont always email u when its cleared.

Yeah, seems a strange choice to make when paying!

A few complaints on the ebay forums from sellers worried about getting bad feedback for items not turning up. Emailed my buyer anyway and he seems fine about waiting for it to clear, and I wouldn't mind the money!

Mis-leading eBay auction. Can you report it?

Check out this listing and see if you can spot the small print which lets you know what you're actually bidding on.

Are people allowed to do this when its clearly an attempt to rip you off?

            Cheers,

            Mike.

That auction doesn't even try word the statement cleverly to make it seem like they are selling a laptop. It just says laptop for sale, and in fine print "no just a link".
You may be able to get banned for that, the guy doesn't have any feedback anyway.

I like the small print planted in the middle of the ad in small grey font on a white background, and it has had six bids! Unfortunately it's probably fine because as small and awkward as the text is, it is in the listing. I don't condone it though.

As its up to 2k at the moment i guess people are just bidding and not intending to pay for it.

Thanks for the link. I spent ages on their "help" pages and couldn't find it.

Looks like the word is out and the fakes bids are rolling in.

Really annoys me that people get away with this. I remember having my account suspended for describing an Xbox game as "will run on PAL machines only unless it has been modified to play games from all regions".

Notice how the bidders on that laptop are all Called Bidder XX?

That's normal for auctions when the bids reach that value. It was a change ebay introduced not so long ago.

                              WARNING:

If you are / were considering buying a Saturn Navi from ebay user proper75

                              (e.g. http://cgi.ebay.com/Hitachi-Saturn-H...QQcmdZViewItem )

He has 'sold' this to at least three people, (including one very well respected member on another gaming forum I post on), taken all the money / trades and delivered nothing!

Furthermore, if you have tips on how to pursue cross-border action against scamming little toads, please let me know and I will pass them on to said victim, who is out by about 600 Euros worth of traded items (which were sent insured and tracked, and have been signed for on receipt in Germany - but the guy claims not to have got them ...)
