    Hello again

I have faxed paypal this morning with all the information they required. This was at around 11.00 am GMT. I have not heard anything yet and have just tried ringing paypal to get confirmation they have recieved the fax. The phone number on there website isnt useful. Does anyone know if there is a number that I can ring so I can actually speak to someone?

If not does anyone know how long it will be before I hear something about this claim?

I have a reciept from the fax to confirm it was sent but I haven't heard anything from paypal's end.

In future, stop using paypal to receive money. Problem solved. I've no idea why anyone uses them - you see so many reports of people having all the same problems with paypal. It just seems senseless. Especially on ebay where you have no idea who's going to win.

I got ripped off to the tune of £555 by Paypal.
Bought PS3 via Paypal. Seller said item was damaged on the way to him, and he'd refund me but i needed to file thru paypal for my refund, as he spun me some story about his paypal account being frozen (arse cus he ripped loadsa people off mor like) and couldn't just send it back.

Got £105 back of the total £660 i sent him, as this is the max ebay/paypal cover for, unless the auction has a blue shield!!!!!!!!!
The phone number in his paypal profile is a fakey, but he has been emailing saying he has sent a cheque recorded (he said this 6 times already, been waiting since mid december for it.

So if anyone here as had any dealings with [email protected] (St Annes Limo )please get in touch asap.

BTW where do i stand with my credit card company (funds came off card).
Can they do anything to claim the money back from paypal?

If you read the small print in your credit card literature (check the website, call them, etc), most cards these days have some limited form of buyer protection that insures you against loss when you pay for items but don't receive them, such as if they get lost in transit. Definately worth a check.

I got an email from ebay today stating that they are making some improvements regarding security & surprise surprise they all seem to be covering the buyer, not the seller. And we all know that there are SO many dodgy sellers out there & SO little dodgy buyers . Well from my experience its been the other way around lately.

It then jogged my memory about the item I talked about on here a few pages back (the 1 where the buyer paid, then I get an email for PP stating the payment was fraudulent but the buyer would send me the cash by Bank Transfer).

I checked the bank - still no cash.
Checked eBay - the buyer is no longer registered.

So, so far in the last 2 1/2 months I've now lost £80 due to buyers paying by a fraudulent method.
If this carries on I'm just not going to bother, because I just cant afford to lose this kind of money every few months. I file all my items sold with the Tax man (just completed my Tax Return) so this is part of my income which is needed to live on.

eBay & PP dont give a **** eventhough if it wasnt for people like me selling then they'd be out of a job. I just feel that if this carries on then I'll just have to do what most sellers are doing & buy cheap crap & sell for profit on eBay w/out declaring it on the Tax.

Someone on here mentioned that u can choose not to accept a PP payment thats made by Credit Card. This would save me the hassle of dodgy payments bigtime.

Has anyone got a link for this option?

That's **** because paypal isn't a bank and I've not 'borrowed' money, therefore it'd be illegal for them to send bailiffs round. Trust me, I've reserched htis one.

Just won 2 auctions - some game guidebooks witha total value of 25 quid....

Joker seller first of all doesn't combine postage - wants £4 EACH book but then adds TEN PERCENT for Paypal. Taking the piss or what. Just sent him this message:

Hi, I have received your invoices but have some queries.

Firstly, it is against ebay rules to demand paypal fees, plus it is a cheek to ask for 10% as they are half that. I suggest you re-evaluate these as ebay has been known to shut sellers down for asking for it.

Also, is there any chance I can have the books sent together and a shipping discount?

                Thanks

                We'll see what happens.

There isn't a direct way to do it in eBay because eBay rules stipulate that if you accept Paypal in your auction, you MUST accept payments from credit cards (hence have a Premier or Business account).

I've recently sold an item within the past week on ebay which sold for over ?500 on a buy it now. The buyer paid straight away via paypal. I got the confirmation email from paypal saying I have recieved payment, etc. All normal so far.
Due to the high value of the item I emailed the buyer to confirm the address with them. They emailed back confirming it. Next day I posted the item via Royal Mail Special Delivery. I check the tracking number the day after that and the item had been recieved by the buyer.
Yesterday I got an email out of the blue about this transaction from paypal saying they were looking into possible fraud. I provided all the information they wanted plus tracking numbers. I've had another email from paypal today asking for me to fax them a copy of the proof of postage. I know so far it sounds as thought i've got a strong position but I know paypal and I know they will find someway of letting me down.
I'm basically posting here asking for advice on what to do next? What are my chances of getting my money back (forgot to mention that whilst paypal are investigating they have frozen my account even though I have just sold 2 other big money auctions and to be honest with you I need the money to get through the month, im not a business just an indivdual seller!)
                    Any Help would be great!!!
Don't worry that's normal. Always happens when you do big transactions unfortunately. Are they asking for proof that the product you had was yours? They asked me for that and I had to fake an invoice.

Right, fair enough. I'll just pop into town, see if I can find some cheap **** & sell it for huuuuge profit on eBay w/out declaring it to the IR.

That way if I lose out I only lose a few quid & I'll just make sure I transfer out my PP balance a few times a wk.

Paypal took ?500 off me because the funds were 'unauthorised' when I know full well they ****ing weren't, as the buyer rec'd the goods and I sent it to a confirmed address. Unfortunately, Paypal sees the matter as over. So I'm now ?500 in the red on paypal. Unfortunately for them, I've closed any bank accounts associated, so they ain't going to be getting the money off me.

Then at the end of Nov, just when I thought things were going smoothly for me on ebay (financially as I had found a wholesaler selling things to me that I could get 25% profit on on ebay - made about ?1000 in a month), ebay ****ing ban me for just so happening to realise I had a previous banned account (which was banned in like June). So now they've banned my powerseller account, over 1300 feedback until 22nd Nov 2007. I've tried registerig new accounts, but they got banned for being linked to by other account. Then the final straw was yesterday when I set up an account at college, with NOTHING associated back to me. Different IP, different phone number, different bank account, name etc. Then they emailed me when I listed about 10 stuff saying "banned for misuse of ebay". They've not replied to me when I've emailed them why I've been banned, and I've been browsing the web and found that apparently it's because I wasn't acting like a "new" ebay member, listed too many auctions within my first 2 days, and therefore am misusing ebay.

                        **** them.
Exactly the same thing happened to me, buyer sent the funds for a 360 in the total of ?400 so i sent the item special delivery and he recieved it. one week later ebay tell me it was bought with fradulant funds so i was ?400 in the red, i imediatly cancelled all my banks contact with paypal so they ended up blocking my account and now i cant sign a new one up as they just block it straght away ft: the F(*&%$. keep sending my debt recovery letters (the best one being a card they left saying sorry we missed you today we will be back again on tuesday to re possese items from you of the value of ?400 unless you pay, starge seeing as i was in on the day the 'Came round' and the card they left had a frist class stamp on it , ho stupid do they think i am. over a year later and im still wating for these bailifs to come around

Crimson, to get back on Paypal you just need to use a different card/bank acount and block your IP with something like Tor. Use an alternative browser for ebay/paypal business so cookies/cache stuff doesn't get crossed. And name your house as "Twelve Acre Road" rather than "12 Acre Road". The idiots think it's different. Worked for me.

Did use an Ip changer for a while but for some reason it completly pisses up my router, and yep tried that worked for a while but then got blocked again all 3 of my cards are now blocked , its alright though as i have just signed up to ebay again and you can now pay via paypal by just putting your card details in, seeing as i only really use ebay for specialist presents i cant find anywhere else or concert tickets its worked out ok from me. ****ers the lot of them though come on google where's ur action site, id be in there in a second if they opened one

Watch out, the Inland Revenue are currently looking at the 'problem of undeclared earnings' from ebay sellers. And it is technically tax evasion if you don't declare earnings, and I know a few self-employed ebay traders have already been prosecuted for it.

I read in the newspaper the other day that ebay are to 'clamp down' on people who sell bootleg items on there site, games/dvds etc. In future sellers will have to prove to ebay the items are genuine!
Im all for a clamp down but how the hells that going to work?? With older retro and import games in particular it may be hard to prove they are geniune to the,..Errr.., 'experts' at ebay.
