if i sell something on ebay i wait for feedback first, mainly because its nice to see if the buyer is happy and paying quickly doesnt mean you are a great guy, whole attitude during the sale process counts

if i buy stuff i leave feedback as soon as i get the item

      easy peasy

Re: eBay listing fees. Am I going insane?

I listed some stuff on eBay's 10p listing day just over a wk ago.
Some stuff didnt sell so I thought what the hell I'll relist it again anyway.

Its now all relisted at 10p per auction again regardless of its listing price!!

        What the hells going on?

All 'media' (games, DVDs, books, etc.) auctions are now almost all 10p to list regardless of the starting price but ebay take a huge 9% + paypal fees.

eBay is just a con to sell things on now. I hate it.

I realised this a couple of months ago after looking at my statement.

There are probably some items where you can make some money but for 'media', as mezzanine points out, you get hammered with fees.

                Buying isn't much better!
It's a shame, you don't seem to find any bargains anymore. You always know someone who bought a Audi TT for £250 or something, but if I want a copy of Silent Hill 4 for under a tenner, I've got no chance. Or you'll see it for £3.99, but they want £7 postage, presumably because Jessica Alba will be personally delivering it; wearing a small pinny and a smile.

Well we all know what the bumped up p&p is all about. If eBay didnt have such high starting fee's/FVF's & PP didnt have such rip off charges then this wouldnt be happening, as sellers are trying to avoid large FVF's by keeping the sold price down. I'm not really that bothered because it all works out the same price as other tiems in the end. I know what the seller is doing & I understand.

My eBay account appears to have been hacked today, by someone who decided to list 30 pairs of Oakley sunglasses, or something.

How could that have happened? My password wasn't easy to guess (it could have been better, but I thought it was obscure enough) and I've certainly not been phished, unless it was a bloody good one.

And I'm curious as to how eBay knew my account had been hacked, removed the listings, and then sent me details of what had happened. All very strange.

You do wonder whether its an inside job so that eBay can say, "u see, we are making sure you're account is looked after well by our fantastic security"

Either that or the email u got from eBay regarding this is actually a phishing email thats trying to grab your details.

Have u checked your eBay account to see what you've listed lately?
I'd check mate just to make sure u aint been diddled.

I also noticed another announcement from eBay just recently on how buyers are going to be even better protected, whereas sellers can just get ripped off as much as usual.

And who's paying eBays wages? The seller or the buyer?
It should be 50/50 all the way.

It's definately an official email, it has my name, and the email was duplicated in the messages part of My eBay. I'm just paranoid now. I've no idea how it happened or if I'm still at risk. If the person who's hacked me hasn't signed out, they could still edit details.

U might have to change both your username & your password, although I'm not sure if u can still use your old username aswell as the new 1 for a while afterwards.

Has anyone else here been listing stuff on Ebay recently and been unable to upload photos? Seems to be a BIG problem at the mo, as I checked their Q&A pages re: photos and it is littered with people asking why they can't upload their photos! I know a lot of people here don't like Ebay, but has anyone here heard anything official about this? I've contacted Ebay about this but I'm sure I'll just get some generic response from 'miscellaneous Asian type who is most definitely not from India or anywhere nearby, oh no ("I am from Peckham Mr Dan")'!

Just use image shack and link to the image there.

Cheaper as well if you are using more than one image.
