^^^ ok, i did a dispute through paypal. I don't know if it's done a chargeback but it now appears as an open case in the resolution centre.

And the amount was only a fiver.

my paypal account has now become 'limited status', and i cant send or receive money. Its now asking, no, demanding, that i fill in my business details, when i dont even own a ****ing business. This is ridiculous.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what the **** do i do?

EDIT : Just fired off a fairly vitriolic email to the *****, so that should hopefully sort it. Are there any alternatives to paypal btw? Because im fed up with the pricks.

Is this because you've sent xx amount of money so they need to verify details as a fraud thing, or something? I had that a while back. If I recall correctly, I just made stuff up and they seemed satisfied.

Yeah had this about a month ago, still not done anything about it. They want bank account details and business details as well... silly sods. No way am I letting them have my bank details, maybe I'll say I don't have one

I've opened up 6 accounts and as soon as a large amount of money goes in, it gets locked. Just bull**** with the business thing, I did. It'll then ask for proof of tracking, proof of invoice as well as your passport. The former and latter are easy enough, but the invoice I just made up. I typed in invoice template on google images, and filled it in on paint. They unbanned by account within about 5 days I'd say. Not nice knowing they might not unban your account though!

Why not? They can't do anything to it if they have your deet's without your permission? And you'll need to fill it in to withdraw money!

**** going to the effort of making up false business details. If that email doesn't work I'll reconsider, but the idea of having to fake a business to access my money strikes me as ridiculous. Mind you, seeing as were taking about cuntpal it doesnt surprise me in the slightest.

Hi guys! I need your help...

Basically to cut a long story short, I've sent back my damaged PS3 and the originally seller accepted that they will send it back but they've requested it to be sent via slow freight. It will eventually get to them outside the 20 days allowed period since I first alerted the complaint to PayPal.

I basically am sick of all this pissing about and want a straight refund.
What's a polite way to inform the seller via PayPal that I want a refund?

See the long thread about my damaged PS3 here...

So i've been selling a modded Megadrive bundle on Ebay & an ebayer (who just happens to be yesteryeargames on these forums) has been sending increasingly bizarre messages through ebay trying to get the item cheaper than listed.

He's already sent two messages through ebay over the last couple of weeks asking things that are clearly stated in the auction & making offers below the listed amount.
The offers have been turned down & he's been told that the full amount would have to be paid on both occasions.

I log into ebay today though to find another message from the same guy:

hello again sir, could you tell me where about the switches are on the megadrive? and could you confirm 1 last time, this has the 50 60 hz switch, the language uk, jap ect option? and the wide slot for playing import games? finally could you confirm this is tested and 100% working? any chance i could offerd £36.50 by paypal? ???=)??? thanks for youe help kind regards chris/mastercgc
Weird eh? All the information except the switch locations is stated in the auction & ive also already told the guy in a previous message aswell. Why ask again.
This is also now the third time he's sent an offer. (already been told no twice)

I would just ignore the message this time & update the blocked bidders list but guess what hes also done a Buy It Now!
                    What the **** for?

It gets better though. He's sent Paypal payment aswell before i've even provided an invoice with the postage amount. So he's not even paid for any postage & has the cheek to include the following message with the payment:

Hello please find my payment £37.99 deliverd for the modded sega megadrive, bundle

please can you post today, 1st class recorded if possible

as this is a birthday present for wednesday, thanks
What the ****? No of course i cant.

So what would others do now?
Should i just refund & report to ebay or what?

The guy seems like a complete ****ing nut & after all this im not even sure whether im prepared to accept Paypal at all even if was for the full amount as the guys tried to get the stuff for less 3 times now. Despite being told no he's still bought & paid the wrong amount before ive even invoiced the total or replied to his last message.
Its all pretty dodgy so i dont really want to risk being ripped off.

Maybe yesteryeargames would like to comment?

It hardly takes effort. It's asking you because you've said you're a "premier" seller, when you first registered. Just say your average transaction price, and that's it really! Takes 1 min.

it happens around the ?4500 mark

once you've sent/received that amount of funds (might be less nowadays) you have to do as they ask for tax purposes

money laundering and all that jazz

No, it's been limited for security checks. When I Was selling last year I had excess of ?10k going through paypal every 6 months and they didn't limit it once because I was fully verified and had submited tracking etc.

its only happened to me once and it was at the ?4500

i remember the email they sent and it did mention about money laundering

but they are a law upon themselves - maybe they do what they want

I recently sold a guy a football shirt on Ebay and he said it was the wrong size and wanted to return it. So I told him to return it and if it was still as new I would refund him. He said he wouldn't return it until I had refunded him and if not would complain to Paypal. So I refunded him and he hasn't sent it back and refuses to answer my messages. Is there anything I can do?
Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.
