No just a regular paypal payment.Seems to be a new procedure for sellers with low feedback (16 / 100% in my wifes case).Tried emailing paypal and got a reply saying they will respond within 2/3 days.

I was on earlier and it said maintenance times are on today, so things are being fixed I guess.

whats all this fixed postage thing about?

and why are DVD's free postage only?

in the FAQ's it stateds that if you need money for postage you should add it to your BIN price, funny that the only person winning is eBay with them getting more fees

and apparently it will only cost me a maximum of ?3 to post the fallout 3 limited edition tin, again if its more add it onto the cost of the BIN

          They are getting worse

You should (Not saying you will) be able to change it to courier and then pick your own postage costs

I've stopped using Ebay a long time ago. The focus on Ebay store over auctions, the way that they no longer care about providing a quality experience for both buyers and sellers, only for getting as many people to buy as many items as possible, the anti-competitive crap with Paypal, the increased fees...

I use Amazon marketplace now. Quicker, easier, less fuss, guaranteed payment and it's roughly the same price as Ebay.

Yeah as abigsmurf says, Amazon Marketplace is good, as is Playtrade at play.com.

Quick question: I sold something on Ebay last week. It hasn't turned up but I have insurance so can claim for it. I said I would refund the guy but have already transferred the money to my bank account. I don't have enough funds available in my Paypal balance to cover the refund. In the past it just took it straight from my bank account. But when I try to do it now, it just says I have insufficient funds in my Paypal account.

Anyone know what I can do?

You can add funds to your paypal account can't you?

Did you have a tracking number for the parcel? Its been easter holidays so there may have been a delay...

Nah, I sent it standard parcels.

You can add funds to your Paypal account but it says that it takes 9 working days!

Generally found it has taken 3-4 days at most, in both directions.

I have a random paypal related question.

I'm travelling to Australia in a few days and have some funds in paypal. No time to get it out before I leave so.. what kinda charges am I looking at to withdraw my money over there?

Plan on opening an account when I get there and add it to my paypal as normal. Would it just be currency converting charges?

I think you can transfer the money you have in your PayPal-account to whatever "real life"-account you have registered in your PP-account. As my currency is Norwegian Krone I can choose if I want PP to do the currency converting (from GBP or USD) or not, I would assume it would be the same with AUD.

If that made no sense, check here: https://www.paypal.com/au/cgi-bin/we...y-fees-outside (specific for Australia)

Should I be paranoid about a PayPal credit card payment?

                                Hi there,

A while back, in a fit of enthusiasm, I bought an electronics kit for a musical-synthesiser sort of thing. Anyway, I realised recently that I'm never going to build or use the thing, so I posted on the manufacturer's forum (it's kinda a niche device that's sold by some American guy working out of his barn) offering it for sale.

Today I got an email from a guy in Guildford who wants it, so I sent him my sort code & account number so he could pay (I forgot to specify payment methods in the advert). He emailed me back to say "I was hoping to pay with my credit card, is there a way we could do this?" Do you think I'm wrong to be suspicious?

I figure that if I ask him to mark it PayPal Gift then he can't claw the money back thorough PayPal, but I think he could do so through his bank, instead. I mean, what if the credit card is stolen?

I don't know why I'm being paranoid about this. I mean, if he had just asked for my PayPal details without mentioning the words "credit card" I would have let him have them, and if I'd have been fine about it if he covered the fees. It just strikes me as odd that he's never mentioned PayPal, but he'd somehow expect a private seller to accept credit cards.

If you Google my email address you'll get about a million hits, mostly from mailing list posts & stuff. If I thought he would be easily traceable then I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but his email address just gets about 6 hits, 2 of which are his own website and a couple more are MySpace pages of other DJs. His website has an anonymous whois.

                                What do you think guys?

                                Stroller.
