Since negative feedback for buyers was done away with I've noticed an increase in the "my son/daughter/hamster bid on it while I was out of the room, honest" stories.
I've got just one more batch of stuff to shift then I ought to be done with ebay for a long time. It's a shame, as it used to be quite decent a few years ago.

tbh my wife bid on something on eBay and it was the wrong item and it was with a member here, luckily they were pretty understanding i did offer to take it or pay fees and stuff to relist it if the chap at the 2nd chance offer didnt want it

anyway after looking at the guys feedback he recently bought a Jpn PSone and plugged it upto 240 volts and blew it up, the seller even gave him a refund for his stupidity

been mincing around and i've seen a notice where its changing for sellers again around the last week in September

not only do we have to pay postage and packing, but they are removing insurance from the sales as well

P&P insurance will no longer be included in the purchase process as either an option or requirement for buyers. This change will remove the perception that buyers need to buy insurance as a protection on eBay. In fact, business sellers are responsible for their items until they arrive safely in the buyer's hands.

Sellers can always choose to purchase insurance for their deliveries, but they shouldn?t ask buyers to insure purchases separately. In some categories like Antiques, Collectibles, and Jewellery, delivery insurance for sellers is the norm. Where appropriate, sellers can include the cost of insurance in their item or postage price.

i can see some rare games being listed in the rare antique section

as a standard i make the buyers purchase insurance, since i'm not really happy with certificate of posting

The sellers have always been responsible for ensuring the package arrives ok, this has been the case since Ebay was formed. Therefore charging extra for insurance is a waste of money for the buyer.

i always charged the buyer the extra ?0.62 for recorded delivery as it made me happy that somebody had to sign for it and it just didn't go missing

here and other forums i'm happy with the people who are buying and selling so certificate of posting is enough

Added insurance will be removed from eBay auctions by the end of September anyway

funny thing is how can i be responsible for a parcel that goes through probably 50 peoples hands prior to delivery

A quick question regarding auction resolution. I'm only asking this because Paypal wasn't used you see, it was a cheque instead. Parents bought something a month ago, still hasn't been delivered yet. No idea if it was actually sent or not. Started a case in eBay's Resolution Centre instead, how do you progress it beyond the point where eBay wants you to speak to the seller? They've done that and it hasn't been entirely helpful. They just want what they won or their money back.

Urgh, it's annoying having to sell something with these new T&Cs. The cash is sitting in Paypal but it's on hold.

The buyer has received the item (I know because I sent it special delivery and saw he'd signed for it). He's not replied to my emails and my money won't be released to me until either I receive positive feedback or 21 days pass without a complaint/issue being raised with ebay. 21 days!!

I know it's to protect people but do ebay/paypal know how many forget or just don't bother leaving feedback!?

It's incredibly annoying to be basically out of pocket for potentially 21 days

Well it appears last night that my Paypal account has been jacked

Got stung for 2 payments to some comapny called MEETIC
One for €7.95 & one for €29.90 (So about £25 all told)
Sent of my claims & now I'm just waiting on the money back.

Does anyone know how this will affect use of my PP account??
I wanted to do a sale thread this weekend to try & free up some cash for a speeding fine & also a deposit for an arcade cab but obviosuly need PP for payments from you lot lol
Is it safe to use or would you recommend anything else?

Just had to file a dispute with a seller.

I bought from a seller in the USA about a month ago. Ok to be fair I took a wk to pay for it but only because he was stating 1 charge for shipping in his auction but when I went to pay the charge had increased by $3, so I emailed him to ask why it had increased. I got no reply so in the end I gave in & paid the extra anyway just to keep the peace & avoid any hassle, which doesnt seem to have worked.

Then about 2 wks ago a courier driver is at the door with a flat envelope for me to sign for from somewhere in Germany, so I sign for it thinking it might be some kind of official paperwork.
I open it up to find a receipt for the item I bought from this ebay seller (who's based in the USA according to his ebay profile) but no item.

I contacted the seller, only to be told I'd signed for the package (yeah right 'package', more like envelope). So I filed a dispute (which I did thru Paypal) stating all my info on the situation, sent the same info to the seller but got no response, so I upgraded it to a claim for a full refund.

I just got an email from Paypal telling me the following:

"In order to continue this investigation, please file a police report with
your local police station that highlights your issue and fax a copy of the
report to PayPal. This document should be on headed police paper/stamped
police paper and clearly show the problem with the transaction."

So now I'm gonna have the police nosing into my business aswell. What can they do anyway?

How come I have to go thru all of this crap yet when I've been fleeced by buyers in the past for claiming they havent received stuff (when they had) their dispute is carried in a jiffy & the payments been reversed with no question?

The way that these emails have been phrased from Paypal gives me a really bad feeling that altho I have a lot of evidence in my favour I'm still gonna lose this & be out of pocket again, but this time for being ripped off by a seller.

Got another problem. Bought a 360 game off ebay. The next day he tells me he cant find the disc so offers an alternative, which I accept, & so I decide to look for the original game that I wanted again from another ebay seller, which I did & bought.
2 days later the 1st seller tells me he's found the disc & is posting it out to me that day.

Problem is its too late now & it looks like I'm gonna be lumbered with 2 of the same f*ckin game because of this dicksplash & out of pocket

No not really as it was in the post by the time I got the msg.
The alternative game was worth the ?3 odd I paid which was Saints Row 2, so I accepted his offer. Then when he'd found the original game disc(FIFA 08) he just posted it out there n then without asking me if I still wanted it, so by the time I'd seen his message it was too late to ask for a refund as it was on is way to me.

The Sign in timeouts on ebay really annoy me. Every single time I close the browser or walk away I get hit by the sign in window. Real annoying when I need to bid on an auction for example in the last minute or so.
