The Sat and Sunday are just too busy for me now. I was at the second year it ran on the Sunday and it was amazing being able to go wherever you wanted and see everything. Even on the Fridays now it's really packed and you have to queue for everything, will be a shame to miss Jenson and Lewis though.

The plus side is my tickets are free
Sorry, I always seem to get their names muddled up. It is Aryton Senna's car.

Damn you and your free tickets! We payed for grandstand seats around the hill, but the tickets don't even give you an allocated seat, it's just first come, first serve. So we'll have to get their damn early and I don't do an early morning wake up.

Down side of free tickets though is no granstand access at all apart from the free stands and they're not in great locations.

I'm looking forward to it, it's always a brilliant event.

The first few times I went we never had grandstand access, and it was still a brilliant day. The only reason I wanted tickets in them this year is so I can take pictures, but i'm starting to wonder if we'll get there in time before all the seats are gone.

I had a really good F1 weekend. Had seats on Pit Straight A for the race, but we walked all the way round the track on saturday, taking position at each of the major complexes for the support races/qualifying sessions.

Yesterday was a bit chilly, but i still managed to get some sunburn! took over 700 photos with my new Nikon, but havent had a chance to do anything with them yet. Hopefully there are some decent ones in there.

I can understand what some people have been saying about not really seeing much of the race, and after spending saturday struggling to see the order of on track positions, we decided to get a Kangaroo TV unit for the sunday. Some nice couple gave us a voucher for £10 off while we were in the queue as well, so that got the cost down to £45. At first i wasnt keen, as i didnt want to end up watching it all on tv. In reality though i was really glad we had it. It allows you to select on board cameras from any of the drivers throughout the race, and provides a whole load of useful stats for you to refer to. So as a supplement to the race, it was perfect. Not cheap, but split two ways it wasnt so bad.

I actually enjoyed being on the straight though. Being able to see in to the garages was cool, as was watching the grid take place and the start of the races. Anyway see the havoc in the classic car race after the GP? Hilarious stuff! Old guys with more money than racing ability methinks! The noise of the cars on the line was awesome as well, as was the speed at which they flew past and launched themselves in to Copse in the slight distance.

I also really enjoyed the red arrows (i didnt think i would) and that bonkers jet fighter plane (or whatever it was) at the very end. One of the best things actually about the two days was the sense that there was always something going on. We also managed to get in and out of the track in the car pretty painlessly on both days, despite the horror stories i had heard of long traffic jams.

So all in all i had a great time (although a Jenson win would have been the icing on the cake. I enjoyed Lewis geeing up the crowd actually - he seemed to go out of his way after qualifying to endear himself). Admittedly though its far from a cheap weekend. But as a birthday present it was bloody good fun!

Marmite. I think I may have seen you? Were there two of you, one of you in a Vodaphone/McLaren top?

                No breakaway... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/8116756.stm

Due in part to Mosley not standing for re-election (even though I heard on the radio this morning that he was saying he was).

I was just about to post this myself. Still think we need a statement from FOTA confirming this.

Also, Hockenheim can't afford to host F1 races any more, so I guess we'll either have Nurburgring every year, or no German GP in 2010.

And with Setanta going down the pan, does anyone know what's happening with their motorsport rights? Don't know who'd pick up the GP2 (ITV4 or Eurosport I'd guess), but I'm hoping that MotorsTV will get the DTM back.

I'd imagine the administrators will sell off the rights to recoup some money. Could take a while to sort this out though.

Guys, FYI the MotoGP race is on today not Sunday. Coverage starts at 12.40 on BBC2, race start is 13.00.

Do you know the reason why the MotoGP race is today, not tomorrow?

Not a fan of the two wheelers, but very interested to read that Rossi could well be on his way to Ferrari!
