Just finished watching my sky+ed MotoGP footage. Amazing moto2 race, although not for the best reasons. I'm unsure whether Tiger Tony will be able to wind his neck in and race with a brain for the remainder of the season but I hope he does.
MotoGP - WTF is up with Stoner? From being godlike at the end of last season and right up to the point where he threw it into the gravel at Qatar he's now looking lost. It's beyond bizarre. I really can't wait to see who's riding what next season - since Ducati started toning the bike down to make it more useable for other people it really doesn't seem to suit Stoner any more. Makes me wonder how he'd do on a Honda. Rossi, Lorenzo, Hayden, Dovi - no issue any of them could go fast on any of the factory bikes. Stoner? hmmm...I like to think he could, but he was riding beyond the limits of an awkward bike in 250 and he's been doing likewise in the big class. Maybe it's just a blip, I hope so because I want him to make up ground on Rossi and Jorge to keep the championship interesting.
Pedrosa. What shape is his renegotiation in right now? with a megalomaniac manager, a bad showing (by his high standards) in two of the first three races and no title to throw around he's now looking like the poorest option of the big four. He really needs to start beating Dovi or it's likely he'll be second seat in a garage next year - at best. I also question whether he could ride any other bike as well. Since he went up to the big class Hondas have always been built with Dani in mind, which is partly why Dovi's bike is so different in parts and setup, but if he went to another team and wasn't the primary focus, how would he cope?
This is all fascinating to me. The racing is a little dull because it's a bit strung out, but all this politics, contract rumours and power struggling is amazing because Stoner and Dani aren't doing so well just now, with Hayden and Dovi really upping their games at exactly the right times.
Then there's the graduates. Simoncelli badmouthing Bautista and Barbera (and getting battered by Barbera at the weekend - love it!) and Aoyama going about his business very nicely on an underpowered bike. It's a pity Bautista is so injured as I like him as a rider and although there's only so far the Suzuki can take him, I'd prefer to see him or Aoyama break into the big teams than Simoncelli, which seems just a matter of time - that's personal to me though, I'm not a big fan of how Simoncelli conducts himself on or off the track.

At least it made a rather dull race more interesting and that was added to when Button and Hamilton looked hell bent on repeating the Red Bull pairs' mistake. Great driving from both of them throughout the short tussle but I'd bet their team weren't too happy they'd risked everything in such a way.
