So they've gone with the engine cover fin used by Lotus and Mercedes (I think?) last year. Always thought that design looked a bit strange.Comment

That's going to do some interesting things with the airflow.
I'm quite liking Renault's forward facing exhaust thing as well. I can imagine they're going to be focusing on how that affects the car on long runs during their testing though...Comment

Kubica crashed in a rally today. No confirmation on injuries yet. The rumour mill is going from fractured/broken wrist/leg to a sensationalist "he'll loose his hand" (Italian tabloid media).

Over on the Autosport forum there's a lot of wishful thinking. I hope he's fine but if multiple fractures, he's probably out for the season, yet you have guys saying, oh, he survived that massive crash in Canada so he will be back for Bahrain. They seem to forget that he was in a super safe F1 car. His crash today was either in a Rally car or road car on the way to the event.Comment

Statement to be released at 2pm apparently. If the media is right (several fractures) then he'll be out for the year surely? Webber had a broken leg but he had much more time to recover.

Poor luck for him, the Renault looks good enough this season to challenge, but only with him at the wheel really.
A team of Petrov and Senna or Grosjean is going to struggle, if only from not having an experienced driver for the remaining test sessions.Comment
