Sure he's got a little cocky of late, but who wouldn't with the success he's had, and at least unlike allot of the current F1 drivers he has started to succeed first before getting swept away with the F1 lifestyle and the usually cockiness that brings. Compared to his 2 time world champion team mate I think he's shown great maturity myself.

I really don't understand either way how people can still be hoping for Alonso to win. He spent the first part of the year failing miserably as he was not able to cope with having a competitive team mate, throwing his toys out of the pram at an given moment. He was implicit in any fraud which did take place at Mclaren, and then attempted to use information he had on that fraud to extort a better position for himself in the team, as again he was unable to cope on a level playing field.
Yeah, it's just that DazzyMan seems to hate Hamilton for no apparent reason; please don't let logic get in the way of that.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but Alonso's a prick. He's 27 years old, a two-time and current world champion with an intimate knowledge of the F1 tracks and cannot bear that a rookie driver should be treated as his equal, I mean seriously, that shows what an arrogant little prick he is. And as for the whole trying to blackmail McLaren, that proves he's a petulant little **** who thinks himself above his own team. I used to like and respect him but after his behaviour this year I can't wait to, hopefully, see him back at Renault next season where he will struggle to make the top 8.

Wurz is apparently retiring at the end of the season so that's one more seat available to someone ...

I'm hoping Williams will fill it with a young driver like Nakajima, Piquet Jnr, Glock, etc rather than just giving someone like Fisichella or R Schumacher another year in the sport.

I think I heard Brundle say that Ralf might be also be out of F1. Can't imagine any team would want him these days.

              Wurz won't race in Brazil

I assume they'll stick Nakajima in for the race as he's tested with the car all year.

Seriously Adam, what are you on about? You're original post was about Davidson being dropped and now this bollocks.

And Williams confirm Nakajima for Brazil

Interesting to see how the next 'Japanese hope' fares.

He left a world championship winning team that now find itself struggling to make it into Q1 for a team that failed to win single race last year and yet has won 50% of the races this year and is on the verge of having one of its drivers take the WDC too. Make no mistake, Alonso may be too political but his worth as a driver is undoubted. He's a bastard but the greats are, and have to be.

McLaren's resurgence this year can't have that much to do with Alonso though? They must have been on the right track when they were designing the car last year, when he was not with the team.

And you're right, he is a bastard.

I was reading a article in the Evening Standard yesterday (paper was a couple of days old) basically saying Alonso won't take a pay cut and Renault have said they can't afford his current £10million a year salary. It went on to say Prodrive could have him as a driver for 2008 (in basically a 2007 McLaren) salary wasn't a problem, then he would probably move to Ferrari to 2009.

All pure speculation but guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks where everyone will be next year

Is that a subscription site Adam? I can't get in, anyone else?

In other news, the Singapore GP site is live now with a circuit map. Looks like a proper street circuit too. It's anti clockwise btw.
