I like flickr as it's a huge pool of information, reading the discussions about how to take certain shots can be very educating.

One of my similar manual cameras I use for B&W film shooting, but very poor quality image compared to that studio shot
Edit: A better one from the 2040z
And a pic I took last w/e I thought I'd linked on here.
Though the title is a bit long, I call it "Carlsberg doesn't do park litter, but if it did, it'd be the best park litter in the world."
And a self-portrait using the black-board mode on the second digital camera I ever bought; the Olympus C2040Z

And while we're on the topic of equipment, I've taken a few pics of the point-and-shoot cams I use
The Canon A420 - the supermacro mode on this camera is awesome
The first Digicam I bought - the C-420L - at the time it cost a fortune, and only takes pics to 640x480 - but seeing digi photos for the first time impressed everyone who had a play.
The Canon A540 - tis a nice take with you anywhere camera, but feels a little plasticy compared to the less expensive A420.
And the cheap £12 Vivitar 3345 Camera I bought to show you don't need £3k's worth of gear
The Nikon F90x Pro - I have two of these
The Nikon EM, another great camera for B&W - known as the Nikon for Women when it first came out
The Olympus C-350 Zoom - This is the camera I take on nights out because of its size, quality pics and price. ( Small, good, cheap ).
The DVR-310. I have two of these and a DVR-510 which is the same shape but with a 5 MP sensor. These are great for self-portraits because the screen flips out to face you. They're dirt cheap too, and record sound and movies nicely.
The Jenoptik JD C3.1 LCD. Oh dear. One of the cheap Digicams I bought whilst trying to find something I could take with me on a night out and not worry about losing it. This is the worst Digicam I own, shockingly poor usually out of focus pics.
The Olympus C5050 Zoom. My most recent purchase ( due to eBay addiction ). It takes some nice pics for a compact, and I've always liked these cams - probably not quite worth the money they go for on eBay though, there are better compacts around now for the same price.
The Mustek DV5200. This is the camera I record trips in my car and bike with. It's not really that suited to stills, but as a portable movie cam it's great.
The Mustek DV4000. Similar to above but smaller and lighter, and not quite as good in performance. It's a super little movie cam, it's really tiny so takeable anywhere even the places cameras don't reach.
The Minolta Dimage 2330 Zoom. I got this one for free - not one I've used that much, but it's fairly poor image quality wise. Plus it's slow and heavy. I've avoided Minolta stuff on the whole.

Aye
And the rest of them for completion sake ..
The Nikon F50 - the first SLR I owned, this camera has taken some nice shots, but I rarely use it anymore.
The Olympus OM10 - I have some really nice prime lenses for this camera, it's one I use regularly for B&W film
The Casio Exilim Z-850 - this is the camera I keep on my belt loop, so usually have with me. This took the rainbow pic above. It's tiny and light and produces superb quality shots.
The Praktica MTL50 - this one is currently loaded with Ilford FP4 125 ISO film
The Olympus C2040Z - the second digicam I bought and the camera that's taken all these other camera shots. I've always liked this camera, and it still takes great shots even though it's 2.1MP
And finally, the Nikon D50 - with close to 14,000 shutter releases now, and everyone as sharp as the first, it's difficult not to recommend them. They are super cameras.

I have been out of the loop for a bit due to the summer sapping my enthusiasm for actually picking up my camera. Anyway for those interested, it seems that Canon has two new cameras on the way courtesy of Amazon who have leaked the details. Doh.
Get the latest digitalcameras info from our tech-obsessed editors with breaking news, in-depth reviews, hands-on videos, and our insights on future products.
Not only did Amazon loose the goods on Canon's EOS 40D, they've also activated the page for Canon's 21.1 megapixel EOS 1Ds Mark III for the pros. That's an 11 megapixel jump from their EOS 1D Mark III (pictured) announced in February... Shazam! Canon's hope is to supplant the medium-format cameras dominating fashion and commercial photo studios with this relatively light-weight, full-frame DSLR. We're talking a 36 x 24-mm self-cleaning CMOS sensor; a pair of DIGIC III image processers operating in parallel; improved 45-point advanced autofocus; 5fps continuous shooting (for bursts of up to 45 Large/Fine JPEGs or 15 RAW images); sRAW image support; 3-inch Live View LCD with 5x or 10x magnification; and CF, SD/SDHC storage options. Of course, it won't come cheap when (and if) it ships on December 10th. In fact, you'll be looking at $8,000 for the body (only) according to Amazon's site. While it's not an official announcement, it's close. Besides, we've been waiting for this thing to get official since we first heard about it in February. So expect one of two things to happen next: either Canon will officially announce in the next few days or Amazon will pull their pages. Update: Amazon pulled the price and delivery date. No worries, we've got the screengrab after the break.Update 2: Oops, the whole page is gone now. No probs, we've captured the specs to the gallery below.%Gallery-6101%[Thanks, Robby B and Manhog]

Went to the BTCC today and got a proper soaking. Luckily I'm not too precious about my gear so it got pretty wet too!
Checking out the damage:
This is the damage amongst lots of other cars:
OUCH!!
Did I mention it was wet?
A pass into Druids:
Got the message about the rain yet? Giovanardi in Druids:
Giovanardi exiting Druids (shot through the fence):
More approach to Druids action:
Finally, Shedden cocks the inside rear wheel:
Can't be bothered to link each one so they are all here, plus a couple of others.
Thanks for looking
PS - The 40D wouldn't be enough of a leap for me, it'll still be 30D for me unless there isn't much in the price. New 1D is a shock to me though, we all knew the 40D was coming but I had no clue about that.Last edited by Alastair; 19-08-2007, 18:45.

Alastair,
IMO you shouldn't dismiss the 40D as its specs alone murder every other camera in that price segment. The IQ and noise handling will be the best of course as well (sorry Nikon fans). Me want!!!
Great pics by the way.

Don't get me wrong RJ, I'm sure it will be a monster of a body and an 'upgrade' from the 30D if you have the cash but in truth, the 30D has all the features I currently need and will be a lot cheaper.
I'd be interested in Live View, if you could focus whilst using it. The anti dust has mostly proved to be a bit rubbish on the 400D. The IQ and noise are already great on the 30D. Am I right in thinking it's got weather sealing though, that's tempting but not enough to up the budget 300 or so quid. I'll play with one before getting a 30D but money rules at the end of the day and the 30D can easily do what I need from a body.

Hey dudes, what with my birthday coming up in a couple of months, I've been thinking I'd like to do a photography course (and let my family pay for it!) so I can learn more to get the best out of my camera. I was thinking of maybe doing a weekend with these guys so I was wondering if anyone here had used them or knew anything about them. I would probably just do their basic course as it seems to cover most of what I need to learn. So, whaddya reckon?
