Took some images from the Rice Show in Birmingham tonight.

Nice stuff Gareth. That first shot's really moody.

Has anyone seen the stuff coming out of Photokina? The Micro 4 3rds system is totally mad/brilliant! Look at this little Olympus SLR: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0809/08...our_thirds.asp

Nikon launched a new 50mm 1.4 - very curious how that comes out.

I'm seriously tempted by the 5D Mk II, but am a large bucket of money away from being able to afford it. Donations gratefully accepted.

If you like the 5D II, this might be of interest.

Fairly high end demo of the HD video feature....

Very impressive stuff from a DSLR.

The 5D MkII should down to a more realistic sub 2K price in the new year. I may be tempted.

Some good stuff happening in the digital world, 5D and D90 with movie mode are very interesting.

Sigma launched a high end 50mm 1.4 using modern engineering and optics & 50 mils seem to be popular at the moment on a few of the forums - DPreview testing the Sigma along with the older Nik & Can.
Seems like Nikon have updated theirs plus making it usable for the new DSLR's that can't AF with the older lenses that use the slotted link between camera and lens.

I'm certainly interested in picking one up.

I was already dreaming of picking up a D80, and now there's the D90 which is well, just awesome. The Sigma 50mm f/1.4 was top of my 'to buy' list too, but now there's a new Nikon coming I guess I should probably hold off there too.

                Expensive times.

In other news, still waiting for a working computer and internet connection

This is the view from the LDA last weekend.
This is an automated panorama, how can improve it? I used the canon photostitch which is superb for aquick job but I wouldlike it to be a bit better.

I decided that in order to better appreciate Gig Photography I would take my camera along to a mates gig last night. Man its bloody hard getting a picture that isn't a blurred mess. Respect is due!

I'm no expert but high ISO is your friend, even with a fast lens.

Got out late this afternoon - caught some good light in between dullness.

All of those were shot with my wid angle lens. Love that thing

And one final one from today. Oddly enough not wide angle!

Wow Ish, really like this one!

I've been a little quiet of late with my shots but now have a few to regale you with:

These are a few of Athlete when they played a warm-up gig at my local venue recently. Really hard to shoot as there's no pit and I was standing one row back from the front:

And these are some of shots of my friend's band, 4th Wall - quite pleased with these as it goes:

Really liked this one though, quite abstract I thought:

Ish - love all of the black and white shots - very nice indeed.

Dan - like the first shot of the drummer - think it's the motion blur of the drumstick that I like.

Couple from the weekend after I finished work:

Dan - like the blue one very much and your first 4th wall one too.

Garf - all four of those are annoyingly good.
