Ish - your Galapagos wildlife shots are just brilliant, well done mate, you should be very proud

Garf - I love your three above, especially the first and last

    Mag - lovely portrait dude

Well, I had a busy day on Saturday just gone....I spent the day with my mate's band, My Preserver, at the Indigo2 (a venue within the o2 in London), documenting their day and photographing the shenanigans! They were headlining the venue that night, so here are some shots of mine from during their soundcheck. I decided to make the majority of these shots black and white, and I'm pleased with the way they turned out:

This one gives you an idea of just how the big the stage is:

These were all shot with my new lens (the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8) and suffice to say, I am extremely pleased with it - it's so sharp! There are some photos of the gig itself to come, but I think I've uploaded enough for now

Yes I was scared even though there was no actual chance of danger. The leopard was about 24 inches from my face.

That photo doesn't even look like your behind glass or a fence to protect you Charles?

I went out and attempted some macro photos today (It's difficult to get the correct amount of light on the object I was trying to focus on using natural sunlight):

Looks a bit like it was in my garden yeah....

Get away.... I was behind an inch of glass. I still pooped in my pants when it jumped up at me.

Well I finally got around to buying a DSLR (Sony Alpha 300 which I'm very pleased with so far) so please add me on Flickr (my username is alex_rimmer) and here's a few shots - mostly of my beautiful dog Angel (I didn't name him that!):

I made a montage of a few live shots from the gig I shot on Saturday at the Indigo2:

              Does it look ok?

Agreed, that is Awesome. Do you have the individual shots in large? The top two in particular look fantastic.

I love the last one Dan of the bassist, great expression. I also stole your idea of going to Scotney Castle, it really is a beautiful place

That last bass shot is maximum awesomeness.

Scotney... not been there in a while

Glad you guys like the bass player shot, I was really chuffed with the bass player photo at the end of my previous post too

Tommy, you stole my idea of going to Scotney and taking photos?!?!?!

Some very nice reflection shots there mate - that boat house is great to shoot if the water is nice and still, and the castle too

So I've been looking at cameras a bit over the last week or two and I'm leaning towards the Sony A200 for ?260 instead of the Nikon D40. Just seems like a better buy in all areas for the price.

My local PC world was selling the D40 for £219 in Guildford. Normally PC world are terrible with prices, but they were selling this for cheaper than Amazon.

Can anyone recommend me a decent motorized macro lens for the D40?
