    You have some lovely photo's boxhead, some of our Morrocco photos are eerily similar.

    Here's a few of mine from a recent trip to Estonia and Finland

        Loving that beach one. The difference between the light sand and dark sky makes it.

        Some cracking pictures in there - love the smoldering donkey and the way of light ones.

        Weather's been pants here of late. All grey sky and depressing ever time I've had a chance to get out and about.

          Nice one GT - got a notable mention on the APOY forum comp last month for my "One Bold Colour" shot.

          This month's comp is "Lone Tree", really haven't come up with anything decent. Considering this one ...

            When i take a pic with my camera (Sony a350) the picture is about a third higher than what i see through the viewfinder or on the preview LCD. Anybody got any ideas?

              You have the screen brightness too low? :P

              Nice Fish Marty, they are bastards to get to stay still enough in such low light. What lens and settings did you use?

                Thanks. Pushed the ISO to 3200 and used a sigma 17-70mm f2.8 - the noise cleaned up quite well on the D80. If that's good then the Nikon D3 must be spectacular in low light.

                bwi I can't think of a good reason why your image is shifted, it doesn't make a lot of sense at all - the image you see on live view is what the sensor is seeing.

                  I'm guessing that was without a flash? Or did you have a diffuser on?

                    Without - you can't easily shoot through glass with flash going off, you just get a load of reflection and the fish really don't like it. Makes them forget.

                      I forget you aren't meant to use a flash!
                      I've tried it in the past with my own aquariums and they don't seem bothered by it, but like you said, reflections.

                          The only thing I can think of it that when you push the shutter button you've got an involuntary muscle spasm that shifts your arms in the vertical Have you tried it on a tripod?

                            A few announcements which I've found interesting, thought I'd share;

                            Canon SX40, serious non DSLR with a massive 24-840mm zoom - not a misprint 840mm!

                            Staying with Canon, their new EOS-1Dx - it's their flagship machine so expect to pay ?5k body only;

                            Finally the new Lytro Field Camera, wish the company well with this, rather than explain it's easier to read here;

                              Nice to get one of them, to be honest i'd be happy with 2nd or 3rd at AP so I can get a mug!

                                Those Lytro cameras are something I have had my eye on for a wee while. I'm desperate to get my hands on one but I will wait to say what people think of them once they are out there.
                                I'm particularly interested in low light performane and how the form factor will affect using it. I'm concerned about blur with one handed use.
