Do Nikon have any plans to go full frame? I ask as the resale value on DX lenses will probably suffer a bit if they do.

Of course if you have no intention of ever going full frame, forget what I just wrote.

Aren't the pro ones FF? I wouldn't know being a Canon whore.

I'd guess there's a market for both FF and Cropped as Canon are proving. There seems to be more glass getting released for the cropped sensors at the moment. Interestly though Canon hasn't released any L lenses for the cropped sensor.

And rightly so. Surely the allure of an L lens is that it will work on any EOS camera, which I think is the reason why Canon won't make EF-S versions.

That is the reason why I decided not to buy any EF-S lenses for my new 30D. The time will come when a consumer FF frame camera is affordable, thus my lenses will still have some use.

All the Nikon DSLRs are DX, even the ?3k ones, so all of them are 1.5x.

This is actually a good thing in a lot of cases, it means the dodgy edges of cheaper lenses ( like mine ) don't matter

            Originality for the lose.

Love the composition - hate the contrast.

                  Didn't know that so thanks!

As for the lenses on FF, some Canon 'L' do produce vignetting on the 1D and 5D. Most noticable when wide open. The 24-105 L bundled with the 5D Kit is quite bad. My 17-40 L and 70-200 L both vignette when wide open, but not all the time. Its something which can be fixed with software if required. I tend to crop out if it effects the image. The application DxO is meant to be good at fixed these sorts of problems.

                  (I like the pic pete!)

I think the photo would come alive if you can get brightness of the swans up a little - you might be able to do this by adjusting the highlights in Picassa.

Ah cheers, will give it a go. The effect was rushed to be honest (it's a colour photo but I used the focal B&W effect in Picasa).

Another example of the limited depth of field on a macro lens! I'm quite pleased with this image though, regardless. In fact it's my current background

                        Nice and sharp Pete.

                        Latest Macro attempt.

Btw, does anyone else here shoot in RAW mode?.

I've just started to use it, I tend to mess with the white balance and brightness (using Canon Digital Photo Pro) before using Photoshop.

I've just bought a Ricoh Caplio R4 digital - pocketable point and shoot (7.1x optical zoom, macro at 1cm amongst other features).
