He/she didn't give you the negatives/disc (if digital) when you bought the pictures off him/her? I know nothing about wedding photography but I wouldn't have thought the photographer would keep the rights to the shots. Surely you would buy that as part of the 'deal'?

Can't you track down the person and ask for the negs/disc and offer to buy the copyright or maybe just pay a fee for a reprint?

They'd have to be a real bastard to not allow that for a wedding shoot. You haven't lost the originals have you?

Yes, they do tend to hold the rights.

Most wedding photographers keep the negatives...otherwise they lose out on reprints, like they don't charge enough for the big day itself.

As Gareth said, wedding togs own the copyright on the images. In fact any picture you take you own the copyright on. Complications are when you start to get people to model for you, then as long as you get a model release form signed then your fine.

Photography of people in a public place is different, you don't have to ask for permission so long as the image is not used to sell a product.

Def part of a bike engine, I can see the water pump housing. Interesting shot, I can't tell if it's up against a wall or laying on the floor!

It was up against a wall. It does indeed seem to be a motorbike part. I wish I had a bike!

Thats cool. What would have been *really* cool would have been to set up a bit of lighting to get rid of the shadow. In imo of course

I like the shadow as it shows that the pillar isn't actually touching the wall. Using flash/lights would have made it look like it was pretty much part of the same wall.

Love the textures, looks slightly overexposed to me (maybe my screen) dead centre but it's a very hard scene to expose correctly due to the dark area of concrete in shadow and the light area being in full sun. Good job.

Edit - just noticed on the exif info of the last photo I uploaded to flickr.com, that the Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera = 8349 - I've had my D50 since February this year - better make the 10,000th one a good-un.
