Amusing how his Pirelli pic is virtually identical to mine! Shame he has a much better camera. I had to suffer with a little point and shoot, made me want a DSLR and a 300mm lens for sure. I went into the pits and along the pit straight on the first day, I didn't want to take pics for a bit though. By the time I came back to start snapping they'd closed it off, so no front-angle pics of the F1 cars. But hey, I got to touch Nigel Mansell's old F1 car

Oh, and only 8 599s? I must have seen over 20. Seriously. Never understand why people have their pic taken next to a car either. It's not like you own it!? If you've taken a pic of it it proves you were there! Personal memories are just that...

Nice to see this thread still thriving with talent!

I haven't contributed lately simply because my flickr account has been disabled / phished because some (silly) bugger thinks I have commented on something that is of - and I quote this - "abused nature".

I simply haven't got a clue in any shape or form about any of my comments being subjective of abuse.

If it carries on being like this at the end of the month, I'm starting a new account for the third 'effing time this year.

Keep up the good work everybody as I always, always have a smile on my face when I view this blog.

Para, I know what you mean about standing next to cars for photos, what's the point? I certainly wouldn't post them on a forum as good as POTN either!!

ET, what does abused nature mean? Have Flickr blocked you for misbehaving?

Just use Picasaweb. I suppose you lose the community type stuff but it's free, the interface is nice and you get loads of space.

Al: especially when they're tiny watermarked photos! Bet there's loads of people out there just wanting to steal photos of a kid standing next to a car!

            The 599s look gorgeous.

So much better in real life than photos, I'm afraid. I was pretty sceptical about it until I finally saw one in the flesh. They look superb. People have said it doesn't look beautiful but I think they're wrong, the beauty comes in the fact it just looks fit for purpose: it screams how powerful it is, and yet in a dark colour it looks quite restrained. Kinda like Daniel Craig in a suit, I suppose: you know he's packing underneath the Saville Row.

If I had the money I'd buy one in an instant and use it as a GT. You should hear the noise when it starts up, and then when it revs.

Best sounding cars of the weekend awards go to:

              1. Maserati 250F
              2. Ferrari 250LM
              3. Alfa Tipo
              4. Ferrari F40
              5. Ferrari F50

Most deafening must go to the quaint little cars with four wheels poking out of the side and funny aeroplane like wings all over the place.

In other news, I must get out and take some photos.

Hmm... tried my hand at sports photography whilst home.
Got to say that i absolutely love the second hand 75-300 Canon IS Lens, a bargain at under 100 quid. However, given how much 'success' i've had with the lens, i'm wondering what the f2.8 70-200 lens is like? Any thoughts?

Anyways, not great shots, but here we go :

Very nice Ish, did the new camera make you suddenly improve?

Maybe. Though I think its just constant practice as much as anything. I've read lots, looked at lots of photographs, and taken ridiculous numbers of them

The lens and flash I bought with the camera helped too. Both have opened up my options considerably.
