Nice images from all of the above. Love the timing on card shot (both Alastair's original and Pete's shot).

Today was a little bored so went for a walk, did a bit of walk by shooting.

Probably best to try a few out in Jessops, get a feel for the handling etc. No point getting a great camera if you hate using it.

Took some fun ones in the park today when I went out with a friend. I've only uploaded one so far, but I'm quite enjoying restraining myself to one awkward lens. In this case it was 100mm.

By the way, I'm really liking this 100mm lens. I think I'm going to have to get myself one. One day.

That's my friend btw, I'm not just sneaking up on unsuspecting girls. Well, I'm not photographing it at least.

Thanks! I was gonna pump the colours a bit more, but I preferred them a bit more sedated.

I was playing around with macro photography a bit today. Got a few ones I liked. This one's a bit abstract:

GT: really like your first and second pictures. Especially the second one.

Magnaki: great shots when I seen the macro one I instantly thought it was a cigar. Can you tell us what it is or will it ruin the mystique?

How weird?! One of my other contacts on Flickr took this:

                  Spooky!

Great shots guys - I need to get my photo on - been a little lax of late. Might sort out the spare room tonight and get my little studio going.....unlikely that it'll happen tonight really, but soon

lol that is spooky, exactly the same angle and background! Curse those folk stealing ideas off Alastair!

GT - also love the shots, the second is fantastic.
Mag - looks like a leaf to me? Reall nice minimalist macro, my fave type Love the other shot in the park too. Your other shots up the page come out a little dark on my monitor, but that's a problem with my screen. Second looks great in particular though.

Fianlly got my camera. After finally getting the shop to dispatch it the courier was struggling with the address. So I went and got it myself.

Now where did I put my muse...

Nice one getting the camera, look forward to seeing some pics

Long exposure with flash and side lighting. Another idea nicked from flickr! Now I've figured out the process I'll try again tomorrow and try to get the die to dance a little better for me.

Nicely done Pete - so you've discovered what rear curtain sync flash is useful for now then ?

                              Thanks for the comments guys.

Mag, like the close up. I do neglect my macro. I should use it a bit more. Suppose it's handy knowing it's there if needed (also like the shot with the girl).

                              Alastair, nice wood!

Pete, like the effect on the dice.

Anyway, i've been playing with the scanner again. This time scanned some 35mm BW images of Birmingham, the old Bullring just before demolition.

Some may have seen these before, but these are much clearer than images scanned from the prints before.

I really like that top one GT. The chap on the bench, who appears to be looking where the lens is looking, really adds to it.
