A 3 pint lunchtime - all in different pubs. Good stats.

    Wylam Gold Tankard - 8/10
    Wychwood Beewyched - 9/10
    Northumberland Gateshead Gold - 8.5/10

Each one in great condition and warmed the cockles after getting pissed on.

Also got some new beers in Aldi, specially brewed for the store by Batemans in conjunction with Roger Protz. That's four newbies they have there now.

Oh, and Ajay1986, they still have Black Wych!

Name the pubs please! I bought four firestokers on the way home to enjoy during the footie tonight.

Wylam Gold Tankard was in the Anchor Inn at Whittonstall near Ebchester. They had Cameron's best bitter on too.

Wychwood Beewyched was at a Jennings pub in Ebchester, halfway up the hill - The Derwent Walk Inn I think. They had 4 Jennings beers on cask (Cumberland, Sneak Lifter, Cocker Hoop & Bitter) plus the guest Wychwood.

Finished off in the Wetherspoons at Consett - The Company Row. They had Abbott's, Deuchars, Green King, etc (the usual fare) plus the Northumberland ale that I had and High House Farm's Sundancer had just gone off (*grumble*). Two local ales - good work, J.D.

Those firestokers should give you a good licking! I only know of one place that sells them - Framwellgate Moor.

Ha ha, where in Fram? I used to live there. Sainsbury's or that newsagent?

I know the Derwent Walk Inn, that hill is bloody massive! I hope you were going down it afterwards not up. I might have to check it out for some Wychwood loving.

You can buy Firestoker in that off license near the pizza shop

The three pints came with courier service - the missus had trailed me over to some stables so she could chat about a hoss and I just stood around in the pissing rain. Cue the stoppages for beer as a reward!

Had 2 bottles of St Peter's Amarillo Ale last night.

Lovely stuff. Was cloudy, tasty, citrusy.

                    9/10

                            It's not me!

I almost thought it was a bad batch as it dodn't say it was a wheat beer on the bottle (it's not BTW) but it was very very cloudy. Had to buy 2 bottles to make sure I fully appreciated the taste.

Not quite as bitter as St Peter's other output which I find can be just a tad too bitter sometimes.

                            This stuff was lovely chilled.

Was it bottle conditioned? Might explain the cloudiness. If so, you guzzled da sediment, man!!

Just had two pints of Blond Witch (Moorhouses') at the Queen's Head, Lanchester. Superb, very appley smell and a real session quaffer.

No it's wasn't bottle conditioned. (Don't think St Peter's do it that way...)

                                There was certainly no sediment.

It's described on the bottle as a "New Age"-style beer. I think they are just trying to be different
