I'm a bit undecided on Badger ales so far. I tried First Gold (I think it's called) which was ok, one that just tasted like peach and nothing else (I don't like peaches), and First Ferret which I really like.

Had a bottle of Marston's Double Drop the other night which was pretty good despite me not being a Marston's fan.

Loving Holt's 1849 at the minute though. Not this minute, you understand.

Well I'll see you guys on the far side. Off on my annual Burton pilgrimage tomorrow. Got my burlap and tankard all ready. Warming up with a couple of beers at the moment.

I will try and keep my notes up to date and will deliver the mother load on Monday

Ok so i continued my Goose Island beer quest today and found that a shop in York City Centre had two more of there beers, Summertime and Honkers Ale.

Just had a bottle of Summertime which is there K?lsch style ale, now ive no actual idea what a K?lsch ale is supposed to be like but i must say this was very nice, not quite as good as the IPA but still a great beer.

Gotta say i really am impressed with these Americans.

I'll post them later, off to get a Fuller's Winter again.

Hit the black sheep tonight. I always forget how nice it is. A solid 8.5 if ever there was one.

I had the xmas Shepherd Neame one, as good as ever. Feel a bit whipped off it though.

Which Black Sheep? I love the Riggwelter. Gorgeous beer.

Not had time to properly review my Burton ales. Been ill since I got back (make of that what you will!).

The standout beer of the weekend was Thornbridge Kipling. 5.2% but so bitter and hoppy that you just wouldn't think so. Its drinkable like a session beer. Absolutely beautiful. 10/10

Tonight got in from a miserable day at work and started knocking back a fairly standard London Pride. Tasty but dull really.

I had a Wychwood PlumDuff today and honestly it was the strangest ale ive ever had. There isnt a spec of bitterness in it and it has a very strange fruitiness that leaves a taste in the mouth that is kinda familiar but that i cant put my finger on still. Maybe its because i've only just drank it but i must say it isnt a beer id buy again.

                          A Wychwood ... that I haven't had ... NOT POSSIBLE.

Gordon H Bennett, I'm going to have to hi-tail it down to sainsburys after work tomorrow to see if that old bastard I met before has left any bottles.

Gutted that Bah Humbug is conspicuous by its absence leading into December.

Had a pint of Hobgoblin on Monday. Lovely stuff. Is it just me or does it remind anyone else of Bonfire Toffee?

Yer. And it takes quite different from cask compared to bottle. They're both excellent but the barrel still has that extra degree of quality.

I think my fave wychwood after the humbug crew is probably circle master (formerly scarecrow).

The barrel always has the extra degree of quality. Unless something's gone wrong.
