I believe the lads and lasses in Liverpool had a mass meeting last Friday to decide on whether to cease with their unofficial action and return to work. The result of which 800 CWU members voted to still stay out and not a single vote was cast to return. No doubt there was an element of peer pressure, but I do greatly admire that kind of strength and solidarity. I don't imagine for a minute that it's been fun losing all that money.
Don't agree with unofficial action myself, but who can blame them when we've all seen how dirty RM can be? Firstly using our "Spanish practices" against us, which they themselves implemented, and then with the pay shenanigan's last week. Add to the fact that we at least did try and play by their rules and what do they do? They run to a judge to get a court injunction to stop the strikes that were planned for this week. Just because some lawyer hasn't dotted the i's and crossed the t's.
I'm just completely disillusioned with it all. When news started filtering out that a deal had been agreed late Friday night, instead of feeling great, at last a return to normality, I just had this horrible sinking feeling. No doubt the deal will include some good and some bad. Just depends on how bad the bad is. Either way, I'm just too tired and depressed to care anymore, and I'll be ticking the box that puts an end to this ****e. Then I think I'll retreat to a Tibetan monastery to heal my wounds and prepare for other battles to come. Y'know, like in Rambo 3.
