Yeah, I've had a few problems with my Mastercard over the years and HSBC have been really quick to sort things out. Never had to ring Barclays, hopefully they are as efficient. The problem with all this stuff is that, thanks to data protection or whatever, they don't give any info as to what actually happened. When my Paypal got compromised, I had no idea if the person had just got my password or had used the forgotten password form or had actually hacked Paypal's own servers or what. I suppose a bit more transparency could aid the criminals even more but it means I've no way of knowing what needs to be tightened up, whether it's something at their end (hacking) or mine (firewall, trojan, etc etc).
Chances are this top up is a test run, in which case I'm worried about waiting until the morning (they're not picking up at the moment). I suppose it's not that urgent, I'm near the account limit as it is.
