Do you eat a lot of chocolate/sweets/etc because the sugar rush they give you (probably unknown to you) will bugger your energy levels up completely, regardless of how long you sleep for.

Christ no. I am not looking at that thing through a camera lens! The bugger moves too quick and I need to keep my wits concentrated on avoiding it.

Car insurance... ****ing outrageous. Some dude reversed into me last year while I was stationary. All got sorted out on his insurance but this year even though I've got another years no claims I find my insurance has gone up a couple of hundred quid.

I'm having one of my occasional (but increasingly frequent) feelings of murder and corporate genecide.

Change insurers, renew elsewhere. Renewal premiums are always hiked up a few %age. It's incredibly rare that you wont be able to find cheaper insurance elsewhere.

(I worked on insurance quotation systems for 7 years)

Yeah I've been round loads and managed to get one cheaper quote (but not a lot cheaper). Rang my current company back and they've beaten it. Its still slightly higher than last year (775).

Always go online to do a quote, and change every year. Companies always offer new customer discounts etc, and usually extra discounts if you have other polices with them, so take your home insurance out with them, then motor and get a nice extra discount on it. Do that each year and your jamming.

I work for Direct Line so I know the score.

Also, £775 is quite high, do you have an extra special car/claims/or are you quite young?

Well its not extra special - I've got a Mini Cooper S and a years no claims.

I've shopped around like crazy online (and on the phone) today and thats the best I can do at the moment. The problem really seems to be that guy who hit me last year. Without that I'd got it down to about 600.

I'd be tempted to get one of those 10 month policies that give you a full years no claims. I did it originally to get my NCD up to full quicker.

But those 10 month NCD's aren't honoured by other insurers (if you swap companies) are they ?

I never had any problems with them. At the end of the 10 months, they sent me a certificate to say I had a full year. This was about 3/4 years back, so don't know if they've changed it now? I think it was Elephant who I was with at the time.

If you swap mid term then you might have difficulties.

This is one I found running around my bedroom a few days ago.

It's probably worse when you consider that it's covering most of the side of a PINT glass.

I let him go though, he meant no harm.
