But I must agree, it's not the cold that bothers me, it's the inconsistency. Every morning I have to listen intently to the radio weather report, just to know whether I should wear a jumper under my jacket or not.

It's a curse, 'cos 12 degrees or lower and it's a bit chilly going to and from work, and any more that that, if I have one of my (merino wool) jumpers on, I'm a sweaty mess by the time I get to the office!

I am not exaggerating when I say I cannot remember the last time we had a nice warm sunny day (around 18-20&#176 in the past six-seven months.

I have not worn a t-shirt and shorts combo in flipping months and it is starting to bother me.

Seriously though, temps should be around 14-15c in April, nipping up to 15-17c in May. This of course will not happen. Summer will eventually hit the UK just as the clocks go back.

Not too chilly in sunny Ilford, but add in today's mahoosive wind chill, and it's about two degrees, mid-April and a T-shirt and jacket isn't sufficient. Not good.

We've had fairly decent weather here the last few weeks. Not much rain at all and fairly warm and very sunny most days.

I remember a few years back April and May were just astonishingly hot and then the rest of the summer was crap. I just want a good few months of decent weather as last years summer was non existant!

Hey dont get me wrong, i can take a bit of cold, infact seasons are great and everything, but its just this day after unrelenthng day of crappy weather my scarf has never seen so much neck action, plus my body is still convinced its in the midst of winter and is stockpiling food, ie im getting fat. More importantly im eagerly awaiting the onset of 'tit monday' when all the wimmin start dressing skimpy and dat erv: :lech:

Got a job interview on wednesday for a place I literally just fired a quick application off for. Its so pointless, lol theres literally no chance of me getting it. it sounds defeatist, but I am merely being realistic. I confirmed I'm coming anyway, but I do not know why, it is going to be the most embarassing interview I've probably ever had.

For those that care, the title is 'Data Translation / Support Analyst' and I'd be working with SQL server which I've brushed on before, and require experience in windows programming such as visual c, and all this crap. (I've only touched delphi bloody years ago)

honestly, I'm so deflated about going I might just cancel, its 6k less than my last place too, so I'm not going to be happy regardless, it just seems like a ****load more work for less money.

why did I apply for it. . I don't know, false optimism.

I had chinese takeaway last night, it was pretty dissapointing, a chicken curry with fried rice. can someone tell me (as I've only just started thinking about it again) what the chicken actually is? its not chicken it doesn't have the same texture, it sortof tastes a bit like chicken, but when i tried a mates chicken dish, his was indeed chicken, because it had the right texture and taste.

my stuff was like this faux chicken that I ate anyway, but it wasn't fibrous and as hard to bite into like chicken. I've wondered this for years, as I'm sure many people have, but only now I've decided to actually find out. google returns nothing and just offers me fake plastic display fruit and ****.

its not chicken is it, I always eat it regardless and then have guilt about it the next day or two, despite the fact I'm still alive.

anyone? or do you think its chicken?

Lollers - think you'll live through it - it's re-constituted chicken. Kinda mashed up stuff slapped into a nugget-stylee (mainly the bits that are too small to sell on after proper butchery - not balls etc as they don't appear on Chickens, only on cocks...)

weird, you'd think it'd be a bit more chickeny, I know I'll live through as I've had it so many bloody times in the past. its like 30% sorta chicken though, I almost believe it is, but then its sorta slimy and not really like chicken at all. I'll believe you though and put my mind at rest a little. I doubt I'll have chinese takeout in a while anyway, it wasn't that bo.

We've got one takeaway just up next to us that does the same Fauxchiken, quite oily and kinda like eating something that's been flavoured rather than what it's supposed to be.....bit like a damp monstermunch.
Then there's another up the road that does proper hunks of the old feathered ones - there's a few quid difference in the prices but it stop the old 'gravy jet' effect the next morning....
