I've spent a total of six hours working hard at cutting the grass in the garden. I'm only a third of the way through.

I think I can safely say that the garden is too damn big!!!

Time you invested in a ride on mower my friend.

You know, I joked about buying one last week. It's not a joke any more.

My parents had one when I was a teenager living in a hamlet in Wales. It was invaluable. And fun.

I chopped down a tree with an axe today. It was ace.

                        Yay for manual work!

Although, at the risk of having whatever remaining shred of manliness I've managed to cling on to over the years washed away like last nights bath water, I have the biggest hand blister right now.

Well, at least since I was in my teens and... well, y'know... er... ... moving on...

I think the thing that really put me off was the price but, having slogged my guts out and not gotten very far, I don't think you can actually put a price on how much easier it would be to have one. It's probably not worth it for this year now, but next year I'm going to seriously consider it.

Plus I see they come fully automatic which means they're pretty much idiot proof (because I really am the type of idiot that needs that kind of stuff to be as simplified as possible).

                          MAN PLAN

TBH the manual ones are easier to use, set the speeds rather than the gears, good for variable terrain and racing.

Well since you came straight to this thread, I assume you need a Sean Bean update. He would love to appear in Coronation Street:
