I lost the plot this morning - but got some sweet revenge.

I was a week or so late paying Grace's nursery fees, so went in this morning with my chequebook and wrote out a cheque for two months worth (?500). This ugly, lard arsed assistant manager who was in charge advised that because it was late they couldn't take cheques, and that I would have to leave the nursery, taking my daughter with me - to go and get cash.

This happened in front of some other parents so I was made to look like a criminal. Plus Grace didn't know what the hell was going on when I had to tell her we had to go back in the car....I had a bit of a shout and swear and made it clear I wasn't a happy bunny. Plus I was late for f-ing work.

Anyway the Barclays is only round the road but I still had the inconvenience of getting little one in then out of the car seat, cross a busy road, pay for parking etc. So when I went in the bank, I asked if I could withdraw the ?500 in loose pound coins. The teller asked why I needed it (i.e was it for a business) but when I told her the story, her and all the other girls behind the counter had a good laugh and came up with the coins for me.

So I then drove back to the nursery, found this amoeba brained battle axe and dumped a bag of 500 pound coins on her desk. I said "I hope you have fun counting these, I will get my reciept when I pick Grace up". I have just finished writing my letter giving four weeks notice and have found another nursery to send her to.

At the next place see if they take those childcare voucher things, get it taken out of your wages every month and you don't pay tax/NI on it, saving you a good wedge.
