Only run in I've had with the police was indirectly when I was about 8 years old.

A huge lorry had parked right on the corner of a road making it impossible to see if anything was coming when pulling out. My Dad was inching around very carefully and slowly to make sure he didn't blindly ram into anything coming the other way... when he did get around a police car was coming and he pulled us over. The copper said that as he'd needed to apply his breaks to avoid Dad when he came around the corner, he was charging him with dangerous driving!

It went to court and the lying git of a policeman said that there had been no lorry blocking the view! Luckily justice was done and my Dad was found not guilty In your face, filth!

What an awful week. Got made redundant earlier on and just a minute ago i went into the local morrisons petrol station to buy some fuel so i can go and see my dad in minehead and my card got declined.

TO cut a long story short, some low-life ba****d has been spending my money in Belgium! I now have no money (they wouldt allow me to extend my overdraft because of my credit score) I owe the petrol station ?40 which i have to pay within 24 hours and no job.

        I feel amazing. NOT.

There was talk of loads of people at the call centre I work at getting made redundant. What's the score with it though, do they have to give you a payment of some sort if they do chuck you? I've been there over 4 years now, part time mind but I imagine they'd have to give us something. I wouldn't mind though as I don't enjoy it anymore at all and have been looking for an excuse to get a new job for ages.

But obviously different story for you guys who are in full time employment. Hope it all goes well.

Law used to be (don't know if it's changed in last couple of years) that after two years service they had to give you the equivalent of a weeks basic salary for every full year you'd worked there. That was the minimum, some employers give more. And redundancy money is tax free.

I got a whole month of pay when I was made redundant in 06, when I was fired in January they paid me a month too. awesome. free money.

EMAP were good enough to give me a months pay per year when I got the elbow in 2001, had been there six years, was about fourteen big ones deposited in the bank account. Wife and kids soon worked their way through it though.

Some people got (different) jobs back at EMAP within weeks. Kerching.

Pffft thats mental, 6 months pay just like that! I'd love that, would tide me over until end of uni year and could be so stress free!

Daughter has just started her Xmas/Birthday list (they are days apart), do they not teach them about the Credit Crunch in schools ?

I loved doing christmas lists as a kid. It was such fun! Especially the look of horror on your parents face when you showed it to them.
