Wasn't sure if this deserved it's own thread but we had a heads up about this in work last week and I thought some people on here may want to know in advance. I would have posted last week but I've been off work for nearly 2 weeks with flu & a kidney infection so I've only been briefed today.
Although they only mention two ISPs at the moment trust me when I say that it's not reserved to those two and others could be legally obliged to supply the same information in the very near future.
I certainly don't agree with piracy but I'm really not convinced that sending people legal demands for what they state will normally be between ?300 & ?500 at the moment is really the way to proceed.
ACS:Law are in the process of getting that figure raised to a minimum charge of ?750 due to the recent press from the government on these issues.
They are hoping that people will see their letters notifying of possibly court action which will scare people into paying off a lower amount and I'm sure some people will do that.
I'm really not in a position to recommend what people do if they receive such a letter and I don't want it to sound like I am but if you do get one you may want to speak to somebody who can give you legal advice.
This is a little up in the air at the moment as investigations are happening right now as to where ACS:Law stand with their "Admit you broke the law & give us money or we'll prosecute you" approach but I thought it was best to make people aware of what this company is doing in case you are one of the thousands of people who are going to get one of these letters shortly.

This is going to be amusing. The town of Peterhead (of "Trawlerman" fame) has landed a gig from last years X Factor winner in a Nokia run competition
*Edit* I should add that Peterhead is an absolute ****hole with a massive Heroin problem!Last edited by Skull Commander; 30-11-2009, 20:23.

Good day at work today, we had the November raffle, very simply, sell a feature advert during the month and you got a raffle ticket, there's 20 prizes worth a total of £1000 up for grabs. Ranging from 32" TV to a couple of bottles of wine.
Anyway, my name was drawn early and I gleened a 16GB Black iPod Nano and speaker/dock. Pair worth about £180. Hoorah. Good going as I only had ten tickets and there were almost nine hundred in the pot. Makes a change, I never win anything normally.

Useless fact for the day, if you put www.fgmail.com in your browser (in error) you get diverted to www.amazon.com - as an affiliate link?
