Congratulations.

Mate booked his (practical) test today, he's got to wait until 5th Feb, and pay ?48.50 for the privilege, thank god I passed years ago.

Oh christ I'm happy I did my test back in 1991! The hoops that have to be jumped through now are pretty full on. In my day (), the most you had to worry about was which 2 of the 3 main manoeuvres (parallel parking, 3-point turn and reversing round a corner) the examiner would ask you to do. And as for the theory - you needed to know all of the highway code as they would ask you about 10-15 questions whilst sat in the car at the end of the test.

I think I'm a fairly good driver but I'd be terrified about taking my test again now. Who here, having taken their test many years ago, can honestly say that they would pass with flying colours and 1st time if they tried again today?

Easily - Been driving for about 17 years Christ if I couldn't pass that ****ty test I'd be gutted.

Mind you I'm glad they've tightened it up - there's an absolutely insane number of incapable idiots behind the wheel these days.

I could for sure, did my car test 11 years ago and my bike test this year, passed both first time and the bike test this year and managed no faults at all for the bike.

The theory was a different matter though, that's much harder now than it was 11 years ago, just scraped through that and the hazard video thing.

I was one of those that thought they'd stroll through the theory side of things. I did do revision though just to be on the safe side and I only just scraped through, you really have to know your stuff. I'm glad they've made it tougher though, as Yoshi says, maybe it'll help to keep the idiots off the road.

Well half of the stuff was on my PC which I re-installed windows on today formatting the drive, knowing I had the rest on my stick which I hadn't transferred yet as I only done the work in uni yesterday.

So now I have NOTHING.
