I made my own iPod / iPhone car kit. Not only does the music come directly through the stereo via the AUX input but whatever you see on the iPod / iPhone screen is displayed on the car's 9" screen (jailbroken device needed). And as an added bonus the whole set up charges the iPod / iPhone as well. Far better than any FM or BlueTooth set up. If you fancy making your own I can tell you how to do it. You will need a car stereo with a AUX input though.Last edited by Yakumo; 27-05-2011, 02:59.

Quick scan through the read reveals your new motor is going to be a Fabia VRS is that still the case? Love to see some pics of that when you get! Also love to know how it drives, I've heard it's a monster! That and I've got a regular 1.4TSI engine (122bhp) in my Golf, so would love to hear what it could do with a bit more kick to it!

I'll post some pictures of the car once I have. Hopefully I'll have it in time for going to Sonisphere that would be a good trip to help run it in.

Handy hint for sure. I think I'll just do the center console for now and the aircon vents to the sides. You'll have to let us all know how the car drives when you get it and if possible a nice videos as well.
Talking of videos, I took one a while back of a very narrow road I use daily (around the 2 minute point). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGHdMlqKE_A

The little TSI motor is a corker as well, very smooth and sounds surprisingly good for a little four pot. OK it gives away a lot of power to my Porsche but realistically you cannot exploit the performance of a good sports car on public roads.

The TSI really surprised me too - it's lovely and nippy and when you learn the 'sweet spots' you can have some real fun with it! My brother has an older MG 1.8 pushing out about 120bhp (compared to the 122 of my 1.4 TSI) and he was very impressed with it - saying it had a surprising amount of 'go' in it!
Saw you said before about getting the DSG box too. I have the manual in mine but wish I had got that now - certainly will next time I get a car! I saw a test online with the Golf R - one Manual and one with DSG. The DSG one did a better job of shifting and produced a faster 0-60 time on average. Oh and it's got 'Launch Control' which instantly makes it better
