Picked up my car from the dealers now too - definitely easier to drive in the dark, I'm not getting dazzled by all the car headlights any more, the Civic sits higher from the drivers seat than the MX-5. I've got a new game too - see how low you can get the computer's MPG display, scarily the answer is pretty low, but it's worth it for the VTEC engine note.

It was something I never had on the MX-5 so I never really thought about it. One thing the MX-5 had in its favour was it was simple - proper switches that did a single function all within easy reach, no multi-mode computers, just a single dash monocle. Now I've got three separate displays. I'm not finding the CTR's cockpit quite as easy to navigate, there are loads of buttons everywhere, so-much-so that I had to resort to reading the manual to find out what some of them do.
Only had it a day of course, so it'll take some getting used to, but if you've ever sat in or driven a MX-5, you'll know just how well they are laid out inside.

Bit of advice required if anyone could oblige. I'm just about to change my current company car, VW Scirocco GT 2.0 TFSI, but have to get a diesel next as per new company policy. I've only had petrols before and am a bit stumped as what to go for. I don't really want anything with any less power than i've got now which about 210bhp and all the cars of a similar stature to what i have now, Golf, A3 etc. are all around 170bhp tops in a diesel. I know i could remap them but i don't really want to go down that path.
I was looking at maybe getting a bigger car and am considering a BMW 330d or 335d, but the new model 3 series is only out as a 320d so far, hopefully more engines will get released soon. Anyone got any ideas on decent fast diesels out there?

Don't get too hung up on a diesel engine being lower powered than your present motor. The surge of torque low down in the rev range makes diesels feel quicker than they are. And diesels are generally very good for overtaking with all that extra torque compared to a petrol motor.
Unless you are making full use of the rev range on your TFSI just now I somehow doubt you'll notice much of a difference.
Try to get a 24 hour test drive of a 170bhp VAG motor and the new 320d, which is up to 180bhp now I think. I reckon you will be pleasantly surprised. Consider a twin clutch box to go with the diesel to make the most of the economy and the rapid shifts when you want to have some fun.
