Any update on this? Haven't bothered with Deathsmiles or DDP yet because they're not HD but I'd have them if there's any discount action going on.

Been playing far too much Monopoly since they gave it away!

Downloaded GTA 3 today - never played it before but due to playing a lot of LCS on PSP I know my way around. Plays extremely well and very smooth on my iphone 4, for ?1.99 it is an absolute steal!

Yeah they haven't made an HD port. Would cost too much I'd imagine.

Anyone else tried iMAME yet? It's an iOS port of Mame4All which plays games circa MAME 0.37b5. Awesome app. The included roms aren't up to much but using something like Phone View you can insert the zipped roms into the documents folder of the app.

I'm not keen on emulation other than for preservation but the games this app can run are all 15+ years old so their commercial value isn't what it once was.

I've tried a few games out like Batsugun, DoDonPachi (displays upside down!), Vapour Trail and Snow Bros. All run on my iPad 2 at super smooth frame rates. I cannot say that it is any slower on my iPhone 4 either.

Apparently Neo-Geo roms work but I haven't been able to get them running.

I think I may look for an iCade in the sales to complement this.

I see iDos has also reappeared on the App Store but under a new name and with no easy way to sideload additional games. Hopefully the rights holders to further titles will give their blessing for inclusion in updates or we could see a in app purchase market spring up.

iMAME isn't on the Japanese App Store but I do have iMAME4ALL which is a free App from Cydia that works really well. Is this the one you are talking about?

iMAME is apparently the same thing as the MAME4All app on Cydia. After people discovered how to side load roms into iMAME the app was pulled. Probably wasn't even available for a full day.

Shame really as it is pretty good. The good lady has bought me an iCade unit so I'll be enjoying some classic arcade games in style once I get it built up.

I had to Google iCade because I had no idea what it was. a very cool item that makes good use of the iPad. Just get rid of those crappy Atari "Classics" and install iMame4All, MD.emu and Snes9x to be in gaming heaven.

I did Jailbreak my phone a while back but it was quite unstable afterwards. Not doing that with my iPad as it is my only computer these days. Besides I have to admit I am a bit old fashioned and I like to see my MD and SNES games on a CRT as they we're intended.

Yeah, the old Jailbreaks were a bit unstable but these days they're pretty much rock solid or at least my phone is.
