That website requires the 3.0 software if you haven't got it and funk that if apple wants me to pay £6 for a firmware update.

Apple don't really set the rules there though. It's all to do with accounting and how their results are reported. The rules have changed though so it's likely iPod touch owners will no longer be required to pay for subsequent updates.

Just picked up a great game... Com2Us' Sniper vs Sniper Online.

It's essentially a bit like a 2D silent scope version of wheres wally? You face a building or similar locale with multiple possible sniper positions and then use binoculars to scope out the enemy. Once you've spotted them you tap again to go into sniper scoped view and can take them out.

There's a limited single player campaign that's split into 1on1 matches (take out the opposing AI sniper before he gets you), various special missions that unlock upgrades and then a standard kill X amount of snipers in the time limit.

It's the simplicity of the game that is so alluring. I'd urge everyone to calibrate the tilt controls before playing (you tilt the phone to aim) but once you're in the zone it is rather excellent. The controls are also well thought out. Though you have buttons onscreen you can tap anywhere on the screen to zoom in with the binoculars instantly, or double tap to switch straight to your barrel view...

The icing on the cake? This is online as well!

There are multiple lobbies (channels) online with an integrated friends list. You can chat to other people and engage in 1on1 matches with full worldwide leaderboards. I've had a few matches against US players and it's been superb, hardly any lag to speak of and a real adrenaline rush... particularly when you spot each other around the same time and can visibly see them switching out the binoculars to shoot!

There's also a co-op allied assault online mode I havent tried yet but I believe it's just a 2-player timed version of the single player.

A free version of Firemint's Real Racing has gone up this weekend, Real Racing GTI. Only has one track but shows that the game is technically way ahead of anything else on the platform.

Just tried it out of curiosity and have to say it's brilliant, it scanned everything i could find that had a barcode at home and instantly found a load of places online i could buy it from allowing me to find the best price.

Hi guys. Just got my first iphone, which happens to be a 3gs.
Now i'm perplexed, is there anyway to use your own edited mp3 ringtones? I've got one i already made for my old phone. Which is the end of dark track from Policenauts and i don't really want to use anything else.

Also could you guys recommend me your top ten games & apps to get me started?

I saw it too, but i would like someones opinion on it before purchasing. Its a game where its controls have to be completly solid for it to work.
