Fedor would destroy Lesnar, no doubt in my mind, the 2 aren't in the same league

I expected Machida to win, but I thought Evans' power and hand speed would match up a bit more favourably than that... I think Machida will be champion for a long time. I don't see Shogun (as he is at the moment) beating him. Whatever happens it'll be exciting to find out!

Setanta do the live events and Virgin do the Ultimate Fighter series. If you're not bothered by the PQ though, try Youtube. The UFC don't seem to mind the older fights going up.

Only managed to watch the fight last night, thought Evans would at least catch him with a couple of solid punches but he didn't really get the chance, especially as the first round was a total non-starter. Wonder if we'll get a rematch.

Where did you get those figures from peekay?

Do you mean the salaries? Any MMA event in Nevada has to publish the salaries involved afterwards (in fact, any sporting event taking place there, I think). Here, for example.

Shame I missed that, thanks for the link peekay.

Going back to the Evans fight, was nasty the way his neck just gave way 18 inches before he hit the canvas. Really flopped back, could have been bad if had been against ropes or something.

Nah we haven't had UFC 99 yet. We've just had 98 last weekend. Wasn't it?. Memory phailure isn't good.

On average there is one every six or so weeks.

It was UFC 98 at the weekend just gone (23/24th).

I'm hoping for a really strong card for UFC 100, seeing as it will be a centenary show. As long as Sylvia is'nt fighting I'll be happy. Watched his last two fights, how boring were they? Appreciate not all fights are going to be epics, but Dana must be hoping for a bit of a performance from him (Sylvia) the next time he fights.

Anderson Silva is the defensive stinker I think you are referring to (not seen TimSylvia for a bit and he's usually quite entertaining), UFC 100 card is looking pretty good last time i checked the UFC website

Dazzyman, the Afflication events are very sporadic, next is meant to be august 1st

they aren't like UFC with a big stable, they are a t-shirt co turned MMA promoter who seem to be going for a few events a year, with a fight by fight Fedor as their drawcard

Philistine! Anderson Silva will go down as an all-time great.

This kind of thing annoys me. Let's say Man U are on course to win the Premiership. They're two points ahead of Liverpool on the final day. They're playing Villa. They nick a goal early doors and shut up shop (not likely, but bear with me). No-one would criticise them. So why is Silva criticised for doing what it takes to win, and creating records along the way?

I'm not disputing his skills, meerly pointing out that his last two fights were poor to watch. The fight prior to his last, if I remember correctly, his opponents knee went (through none of Sylvia's attacks), but the crowd during that were starting to cat call. At then his last fight again, which went the distance, the crowd started getting restless just after round 1 due to virtual no action taking place. Appreciate the onus is'nt on him to take the fight to his opponent all the time, but seeing as how good he is, his opponents don't want to engage him. They end up just shadow boxing, which from a spectator sport, is quite boring to sit through. Even more so when you have fights on the same card where the contestants have been going at each other non stop. The last thing a crowd wants to see as the main event is pretty much a non event.
