      Mirko Cro Cop = legend

Really enjoyed the Pride years where Cro Cop was simply awesome, disappointed with his previous 2 appearances in UFC though fighting in a cage is different to fighting in a ring - no soccer kicks to the head.

I'm no expert but after his long career in K-1 and Pride, UFC and Dream ETC I'm pessismistic if he can recreate his form of old, also have to take into account the injury to his knee.

Last fight I saw of Cro Cop was against Choi Hong-man and he had some heavy strappin/supports on both knees - not good.

Whatever happens one of the most popular fighters of recent times.

Dazzyman recommend you check out Royce Gracie vs Sakuraba, just make sure you have an hour and a half spare to watch their fight, YES 90 MINUTES

      Enjoy

He's had a very long career at the absolute pinnacle of comabt sport - kickboxing then MMA. The toll that takes on the body is immense. I don't think there's any shame in him realising that he's past it (but I don't think Cro Cop himself feels the same way).

Some people think him and Wanderlei are suffering from concussion-induced dementia, which is preventing them from realistically appraising their situations... what do you reckon?

I'm not sure if you guys know but the next season of The Ultimate Fighter (10) is gonna be really interesting as it features heavyweights and one of the participants is the 'internet fighting sensation' Kimbo Slice. If you've never heard of Kimbo Slice's street fightin' check below.

I give credit to Kimbo for having the balls to step up in TUF as we always knew he had zero MMA skills.

To me, this will prove a massive ratings boost for the UFC brand and Kimbo has more to lose than to gain after his last fight when he got KTFO in 10 secs by a relatively unknown in his last fight, losing all credabilty.

Don't forget he probabaly was solely, the guy who brought down and closed down EliteXC.

          Read more about it HERE

He looks great when he’s fighting out of shape guys with his boys behind him, but as soon as he steps in with anyone mediocre he looks terrible; which is a shame in a way, as even though he’s bad for the sport his bad guy 80’s persona is hilarious to watch.

Only when Kimbo fight’s do you hear things like:

"That sounds like a challenge big dog!
" and "send him back to the boat yard!!!!”

I can see this easily being the most entertaining season they’ve ever done.

not seen Kimbo Slice before, read about him.

he looks garbage, the typical US approach to many things, all brute force and muscle with no finess, his boxing footwork is terrible, he's always off balance, and if a little guy like than can do that to him his chin looks suspect too.

can't see him going too far in the UFC unless he posseses some hitherto hidden wrestling or ground game

He doesn't, don't see why they've felt the need to bring him in to UF10, don't even expect him to win his elimination contest be honest, he's just been brought in for the free publicity aspect I'm sure.

Anyone else seen this weeks UF9? .. the Damarques fight

really thought he was gone at the end of the first round, unfortunately not, he deserved to win on points in the end though

Two semi final fights in the next episode

Yeah, Disappointed the Uk fighter (Nick I think his name was) didn’t win. Seems as soon as it gets to the third round our guys just don’t have the gas to finish fights; which is a shame as he had Damarques rocked a few time.

It'd be nice if Affliction put on more than 2 shows a year. Hopefully that'll change when Tito Ortiz and a few other more marketable fighters jump onboard.

He was supposed to be having a pro boxing match at the end of this month, but it's been cancelled as he's been medically suspended. Seemed like a ridiculously quick turnaround anyway even if he'd won against Rogers...

Anyone watch Brown/Faber on Sunday? It seems silly calling them "featherweights", they're both massive! (Only 5'6", but huge builds.)

Slight side note, but I?d much prefer same day weigh ins. There?s quite a few fighters who clearly don?t belong in their respective weight classes (I?m thinking Anderson Silva, Forrest Griffin, Alves) which takes some of the shine off their wins for me.

As for Brown Faber II... I missed it. I'm sure there were some fireworks judging by the first fight though.

                              Beard = glass chin

Moustache = chin made out of granite :P

Tough one. Part of me thinks that, if you can cut the weight without affecting your performance, you belong in the weight class. On the other hand sometimes it does get a bit silly - Sean Sherk is supposedly a lightweight, but he says by fight time he's actually back up to welterweight poundage... and of course welterweights are actually fighting nearer the middleweight range, and so it goes on.
