You can't, for some reason siri is male in the UK and female in the US. That's the way it is.

I think iOS5 is mucking around with my music. I was listening to some stuff on my iPhone yesterday and every now and then I'd hear a... squiggly noise at a random point in some tracks. If I rewind said track, it doesn't happen again. Not sure what it is or what's causing it. The only thing different since last time I listened to music on it is that I've been using the EQ and it's iOS5

Aww, the US one sounds better. Anyone else noticing improved battery with iOS 5?

You can choose the voice for siri as far as I know.

Couldn't see the option but probably just down to me missing the glaringly obvious as usual.

My pal was showing me his new 4S today and went to comment on how crap Siri was as it doesn't understand him. He then asked it to send a text to me and got the full message and my name perfect to the letter. Was quite funny.

Siri is actually a beta. This a glimpse into the future

Siri works well, but I'll never use it. Asked it what the weather was like today, and it worked perfectly. Then I thought to myself, "I'll never use this again" *shrugs*

Vaguely related but apparently the iPod was announced 10 years ago today. They've come a long way since then.

If you have emoticons installed on your iPhone, try getting Siri to read texts with them on. Very funny.

                    "Face with Heart Shaped Eyes"
                    "Face with Heart Shaped Eyes"

                    "Face recoiling in Horror"
                    "Face recoiling in Horror"

Not Siri, but the old voice recognition system:

Me : "What time is it?"
iPhone : Starting Facetime with Richard Royle
                      Me : "No! Stop!"

It's like the Simpsons Eat Up Martha

Aye, siri is hit and miss, but last night i asked siri to play a Michael Jackson on teh phone, it searched and brought up MJ 'bad' I then said 'next' and it skipped the track

Its handy, when im lazy and i dont wanna navigate my phone.

As for the voice, i dunno hwo to change it to a woman's voice :/

I did get some random interferance when i plugged it into my pc to sync quicker than wirelessly. As I played a track on my pc itunes i got a lot of random faint noises and clicking Hmm... Im sensing another update soon

Wifi updates to the phone is ace though

To change it to the woman's voice change the language to English US.

Anyone getting garbled or scratchy playback on some songs? I'm suffering from this as are many others, seems to be caused by iTunes 10.5 and/or iso5 bug. Needs fixing pronto.

I don't have the audio playback problem you mention but it seems as if audio playback via the dock connector or the headphone socket is quieter than it was previously.
