Tried to make a trifle using one of those Birds kits.

The bloody jelly didn't set! I didn't think that could happen as long as you made it up with the right amount of water and all the crystals had dissolved.

Irk: Jelly in trifle. And wet fruit. uurrrggh.

Ideal trifle: lay a bunch of those hard sponge fingers in a suitable dish (deep rectangle). Pour some sherry on them to soften a little. Smear the lot in Apricot jam. Cover with custard. Cover with cream. Put in fridge for a while. Scoff.
