on the subject of the Nazis... Enough with the holocaust movies! Yes it was horrible but there are very few people who don't know about it in detail. There have been 250 odd films about it whilst other acts of genocide get almost cinematic coverage.

Heck I'd settle for a mainstream holocaust film that concentrated on non-jewish victims (who made up the majority of those who died in concentration camps despite the popular perception).

I managed to pull this off once about 2 yrs ago, but he was a complete idiot who I had to work with who gave me the usual ignorant attitude when he found out I didnt drink, so I told him I was Muslim & he believed me.
Managed to keep it up for about 6 months even over Xmas, so when he offered me some chocs I told him I was 'forbidden to eat sweet foods during this period of the muslim calendar', & I told him that because I needed to pray at certain times of the day he may hear me chanting while I worked if I couldnt get off for a break.
Everybody in work knew I was messing with him but he didnt click once.

The Direct Line adverts where it says, "We're not on price comparison websites meaning we don't pay them commission." Erm, that's a benefit for YOU not me!

What they're basically saying is "we want to decrease transparency because we don't like good customer service". Also it indicates they don't believe their prices are good enough and they want to waste your time. Mr Bullet meet Mr Foot. I'm purposely going to avoid any companies that do this.

I think in that case, if they don't pay them commission then that's how they save you money. I think most of these sites pass that onto the consumer.

Yes, but that doesn't stop the companies on the comparison websites being cheaper though, regardless of any commission changing hands, does it? It's a nonsense argument from Direct Line, i.e. they still aren't saving us any money compared to others.

USB sticks that flash while in use. When im watching a bluray ive ripped off the internet on my PS3, it's such a chore to have it blinking in the dark.

Poor you? New irk: people who screw filmmakers (especially independent producers and independent disc authors) over by downloading films without ever buying anything. Sorry to make it personal, but this has hit me hard before.

Flashing USB sticks are annoying though, especially if you leave a PC on and try to watch something on the projector and the whole damn room gets lit up :P

Something else - Uninformed Apple Mac users who think that the quality of the screens on their Mac Laptops and iMacs are amazing and beyond criticism. I imagine it comes from seeing those Apple Cinema Displays used in movie editing post-production; and them naively assuming the cheap panels on their Macbooks are 10/10 reference displays.
