Gunrock has is bang on there.

If you looked at my job spec you'd expect me to be working with 8 arms and needing a whole library of reference books just to keep up.

So, so far from the truth. Those are your background skills, I need to use a fraction of what I know on a daily/weekly basis. Yes I do need all those skills, but only infrequently. It's knowing when to identify which skill/problem to use at the time that I get paid for.

Mixed feelings about your job move billy, you could follow your old boss but might end up just being his lacky - you might be better off staying put at the moment and putting in some solid work in a difficult situation. You can then use that to your adventage when going for your next job - employers love it when you can quote real life experience of overcoming problems and sticking it out.

I don't. I'm in favour of higher education reform regarding wasteful spending on frivolous degrees. Quite a few people I work with are graduates that are really no better off than I was when I left school at 18, so I'm aware of the relative worthlessness of some degrees in the real world. (It also had a strong influence on my choice of degree, although that market is in trouble too.) I weighed the cost/benefit of enrolling on my course and decided to attend because no amount of menial shop work was going to help me buy property, get a proper job or lead to a better standard of living and I was willing to work hard to earn those things. Unfortunately that choice would be a much harder one to make now, as cost/benefit is no longer such a simple balance.

Banks/parents have got nothing to do with it. If the Labour government didn't decide 50% of the population should go to uni then their running costs wouldn't have massively increased.
Are the funding cuts not related to the government's austerity measures? I'll concede that simply blaming banks and overspending on credit is an overly simplistic perspective, though.

I object to entry standards being lowered to the point of letting almost everybody into university too, particularly due to the terrible effect that it has had on the employment market. With that said, I also realise that not everybody who wants a degree wants one related to maths, engineering or science. I don't see why fees should be raised for every student to replace lost university funding- the intention of saving public money seems correct but the execution seems flawed. It'd be better to scrap useless degrees and divert funding elsewhere. The government has expressed concern over dwindling numbers of employable graduates and the subsequent effect on the economy- wouldn't it be better to keep the fees as they are for "proper" degrees, as this would provide prospective students with an incentive to enrol on those courses instead of placing a safe bet on a "softer" one?

The fact my toilet is only partially blocked. Why not just be completely blocked, then I would have more chance of creating enough suction to unblock you!

It works, its draining, not even that slowly either. Sod.

Pour some ice cold water down it then flush. Should sort it out.

I was pissed off enough that adverts keep saying things cost "FOUR NINE NINE" instead of "four hundred and ninety nine pounds," but now it's gone even further. You can go and buy a touchscreen PC thing from PC World for "SEVEN NINETY-NINE."

Which is £799.

EXCEPT IT'S NOT, IS IT?

YouTube's video quality settings. They keep changing the bloody things without telling me.

In the good old days I could choose to either play high quality all the time or adjust based on connection. Then they changed it to choose between playing low quality all the time or adjust based on connection.

Now they've changed it again, but this time to either always play low quality or to change the quality depending on player size. This basically translates to YT pausing and buffering the video again when I go full screen. There's also a checkbox to always play HD when in full screen where available.

I suppose the problem lies in the fact that YT videos can be HD now but I'd much prefer if I could set a desired resolution(e.g. 480p) and it'll default to that whenever possible.

YouTube always changes things without warning and then forces you to accept those changes.

The annoying grey bar is a good case in point. Would it hurt so much to give users the option to not have it if they don't want it? It's just as well I used Firefox and can block the code that invokes it using Adblock Plus...

Thought I'd try out some of these metabolism boosting diet pills from the amazon black friday sales.

They're too effective. Can feel the heat radiating off of me just sitting at a desk and I'm ultra hyper ;_;
