Come in here to rant about my new phone not turning up and see that Yodel are already getting rightly talked about negatively.

Long story short, phone was meant to be here yesterday - online tracking said it was with the driver at 10am. Didn't arrive but this morning had been changed to 'delivered at 8pm' when I was in and no one came. Didn't come today either so a few phone calls later and the driver is saying he delivered it (and amazingly, has my mum's signature) and O2 saying that's that. Police involved though so hopefully this little **** of a driver gets found out and sacked. Which would be great, what with Christmas coming up. Would put a huge smile on my face anyway.

Phone them. Amazing how after calling them and telling them I was meeting with the police tomorrow to start an investigation it miraculously turned up at about 7:15 tonight, yet they insisted that their driver had delivered it to me. What a joke of a company. NEVER again.

Waking up a good hour early to get to Drama School on time, only to be late because of dead lock traffic and an idiotic bus driver!!!!

I'd like to formally request a dramatic recitation of those verses.

I want to watch them with a sense of wonder and a smile. I get sick of seeing things torn up. I'm just not interested in seeing some cute little thing get thrashed to bits and chowed. I know it's life and all, but I've no interest at all in the uglier aspects on nature. Any tolerance I did have of it has been eroded by the endless parade of it in these programmes.

I'm watching that Frozen Planet and it's put a real downer on the day. It's gone from beautiful shots of a whale swimming the icy waters, to a pack of killer whales hunting the poor sod in the truly depressing fashion of teaming up on it until it tires, taking bites from it, then drowning it by jumping on top of it. After this unpleasantness, we go to a charming shot of penguins rocketing out of the water and landing on the ice, followed by images of their cute little babies. Not content with that, however, Atten-bro's team show us a big sea bird swooping down and grabbing one. From a distance, it's limp body and little (formally happy) feet hang from its beak as it nashes off to a perch.

No no no! I demand to see an option on the forthcoming dvd of filtering out all the unpleasantness. A Team Lovely director's cut. Of course, it's a stupid attitude, as life is brutal and uncompromising, but I certainly get the impression that wildlife documentaries indulge in the grimier side of life with a touch of glee. I don't rubber neck at accidents, glare at roadkill, or want to see scat vids, and I'm not going to get anything out of seeing animals knacked up either.

Was bad again tonight. Some poor bird survived its first flight/crash landing but then an Arctic fox came up and grabbed it. Very distressing.

Official complaint to Best Buy and Yodel. A proper letter addressed to head of customer relations or something similar, sent by recorded delivery. Be firm, polite and explain how disapointed you are, and that you expect a swift reply on the matter. Send to multiple departments, or even better if you find out names, then use them.

*Edit* Here's a start for you:

                      Michelle Gloder
                      Head of Customer Experience

Best Buy UK, 1 Portal Way, Acton, London, W3 6RS (UK)

                        Thanks for the advice.

I'll write the letters but its all done & dusted according to them. Item has gone back so it'll have to be re-posted (at Best Buys expense), & Best Buy company policy is if something is sent back to sender the item is refunded automatically.

No Victoria Tube line all weekend. Again.

Great planning from TfL there. Close Northern line connections at Tottenham Court Road, Bond Street station and the whole Victoria line all weekend, in mid-November. The Piccadilly/Central lines and Oxford Circus are going to be complete hell. I'm almost tempted to quit my job to avoid the madness.

Doorbell rang just now, I go to the door - no one there, but the parcel was left inside the door............delivered by.............Yodel.
