The lady at the checkout till next to me at lunch who thought saying "Give it a rest" to her clearly distressed young child would have a comforting effect. Cue more desperate screams...

Gah, I hate it when children cry in public. Don't know whether I sympathize with them or if I just hate it. Guess it's mixed

It's difficult. But the child was full on screaming, and too young for it to be spoilt screaming, so at the very least picking him up and trying to comfort him might have made sense. She didn't have a lot of shopping, so no excuse really.

I'm mediumly sure Ebay have bots that search for certain words in some categories and flag up auctions that contain them.

The price of Japanese DVDs and Blu-Rays irks me. They seem to be significantly more than over here for anything 'less mainstream', about £30 for DVDs of Sailor Moon containing about 2 or 3 episodes, and the complete box set of Cardcaptor Sakura on Blu-Ray is a staggering £590. It's not as if people in Japan are any richer than people over here, so they're surely pricing themselves outside of a potential audience with those kinds of prices. I want to give them my money, I really do, but I'd have to get a mortgage to afford them. I'd love to know how this is viewed in Japan itself.

My main irk right now are the instore advertisements on the ASDA in-store radio, more specifically the one for the Xbox 360 Slim. They seem to be scripted by someone who would fail a Primary School English exam. For example, the Slim advert says something like (paraphrase) "The new Xbox 360 is much more than a games console, with it's 256 Gigabyte hard drive and sleek black finish, the Xbox 360 is a media centre for the whole family". How exactly does the colour of the thing make it more of a 'media centre'? That's not what they mean, but that's what the sentence says. It shouldn't bother me as much as it does, but I work there all week, 9 hours a night, so I have to hear it repeatedly. And every single ASDA advertisement contains similar mistakes. Get someone without crap English to make these things dammit.

Those 'beauty' spot piercings females seem to have, terrible.

oh in fact, while googling to remind myself how stupid they look, I find this: http://dancenet.s3.amazonaws.com/ima...__by__orig.jpg

                ...

It seems when people turn 18 they get a bunch of vouchers for the closest tattoo / piercing shop and go crazy. They almost always look terrible, oh I love that .. tribal.. .thing on your arm, that must mean so much to you for you to have it on yourself permanently.

People getting their hands tattooed also, its almost childlike - what word means so much to you that you want to do that. dumbasses.

I can respect tastefully done tattoos such as ikobo_1's but they still aren't for me. 95% look awful and like someones been let loose with a felt tip, and it just shows the artist has only mediocre drawing skills.

Ear tunnels. Don't people realise what an idiot they look?

edit: (as if I needed to add more), I have tinnitus due to trapped fluids in my ear or something, its been 8 weeks now and driving me mental, I hope its not permanent.

When you tire of wearing dreadlocks and listening to Ozric Tentacles whilst drinking scrumpy and decide to take the ear tunnels out, this is the result...

                  Delightful!

Belly button piercings have always irked me, regardless of who it's attached to. It just looks like a botched surgery.

eh at least it means something, better than those black swirly nondescript things I guess.

If you were doing it like they do on the Discovery Channel with her, how could you not think about her Mom and Dad?!
