Turns out it's not optional and I think I just damn near exploded my kidneys.
LOL! I nearly did the same thing years ago when I went to see Gladiator at the cinema. About 20 mins into the film I suddenly felt the need to pee and because I'd never ever left a film for any reason until it's ended, sat through the rest of the film in a state of increasing pain bordering on absolute agony by the end. As soon as that screen went black and the first credit came up, I was up and out and in the pisser before anyone else had even left their seats!

And is it just me... but when I'm on my journey home and I suddenly feel the creeping need to pee, why does the urge get more and more desperate the closer I get to home to the point that when I finally park up, I'm sprinting to my door and doing the 'I will not piss in my pants' dance while scrabbling for my keys, darting down through the hall and dancing in an even more exaggerated way that makes me look like an epileptic having a fit while trying to perform some Michael Jackson dance routines whilst standing on a fitness power plate thats running at ten times it's normal setting in a building thats being demolished with ten tonnes of dynamite during the apocalypse when I'm finally in front of the loo? This irks me...

I remember I had to go for an STD test after my ex did the dirty on me. Had to refrain from pissing for 8 hrs before the test.
I got to the docs, & by this time I couldnt feel my groin area as it had gone numb from needing a slash for 8 hrs.
Doc pushed a swab down me japs eye & I didnt feel a thing!!
You couldve bashed me old fella with a mallet & I wouldnt have even flinched!!
Pissed for about a minute solid afterwards. Mustve sounded like someone was runnnig a bath in there!!

This happened to me so badly once that I just opened the front door, stepped into the bath and pissed myself. It felt great.

I read an article once that attributed weak bladder later in life to peeing whenever the opportunity arises, and that not going often helps strengthen the bladder to avoid emergency twilight pee operations. Not to the extent that it starts getting painful, but more like a man plan-esque "I can wait"

Is it just me or does your bladder/bowel weaken when you're in touching distance of a loo?

You could be desperate but in no danger of embarassing yourself until you're trying to pull down your trousers at which point the strain suddenly becomes unbarable and you've about 3 seconds to lower your underwear and lift the toilet lid before you make a mess.

Yeah, I get that. Built-in proximity sensor. It's quite impressive really.

Do you all remember this rant I posted a few months ago? New development.

Now my fiancee is 2 months pregnant, she's been really struggling with morning sickness but hasn't missed a single day of work.

Yesterday the boss took a screaming fit against all the staff (because a teacher didn't show up for a lesson when he was supposed to). He was shaking his fist at one of the women who work there, and he started kicking chairs around the office and threw a book at Miki (my pregnant fiancee). Miki started hyper-ventilating, the other woman was in tears, and the boss
stormed off out of the office.

Miki missed the last train because she couldn't breathe properly, the other staff stayed to help her calm down, the boss came back and they had a meeting (after midnight). That went on until 2am.

The end result is that all three women who work there (out of 6 staff in total) have given notice and will be leaving, Miki's last day is going to be July 10th.

I couldn't really decide if this belongs in the smiles thread or this one - but I will save the smile for when his company goes under. He's lost everyone that kept the place ticking, I'll be amazed if he can keep it running now. It will be sweet justice when it happens.

Man, I hope she and the baby are alright and that it all works out for you in the end.

                      That's bang out of order.

I'm guessing assaulting your staff is not against the law in Japan. An employee throwing things at staff here would be classed as assault.

It would also (personally) make me feel inclined to throw something back or, at the very least cuss them out.

(I know that wouldn't have been appropriate in this instance, I'm just saying how it would make me feel, if you know what I mean).

                        Hope they're ok, too.

July 10th can't come soon enough.

That is well out of order. If I was you I'd be over there like a shot and stick my size 8 shoes so far up his arse that everyone would think that Doc Martins have started making headwear.

If it's been going off for ages and nobody's doing anything about it, just go and steal it.
