Gotta give it to those guys in that vid Charles, it's really true about becoming wiser with experience (of course), but it's such a hard barrier to put yourself through, all the falling off and messing yourself up... I had around half a dozen really bad accidents when I was a kid on my BMX through trying all kinds of mad **** like going down those really tall slides and scaling dangerous playground equipment that hadn't been upgraded from the 70s. Once ended up with a badly busted face, loads of missing teeth, and a hole in my cheek after falling down a rockery whilst tangled up in my bike so my gran grounded me for about two months after that, but I still went out on my bike afterwards. Videogames came along when I was 8 or so or I'd probably have kept it up.
Thought about getting back into it last year after going to the gym, all it took was that fall on the ice to remind me my body isn't capable, or conditioned, to take even the slightest of knocks anymore. A couple of years before that I tripped on a manhole cover and slapped the deck face first and ended up rolling around on my back in agony for ages before getting up. Meh.
But yeah, it's better off that you get through that pain barrier when you're really young, the younger the better IMO when you are the most supple and bouncy you'll ever be. Same goes for all those hardcore-ass Muay Thai heads that have been pelting bamboo with their shins since they were 3yrs old.
