I had a go with his iPad this evening, for 10 minutes or so... I couldn't be more indifferent about it if I tried. If I didn't have an iPhone then I could see I might have been impressed, but nothing about it made me want to buy one of my own. I guess you probably need to have it next to you on the sofa, and pick it up as/when you need it, rather than the way I was using it - which was stood in his kitchen trying things out!
They are quick though, I'll give them that.

UK release of 28th May... preorders start 10th May... prices (apparently)
"Apple's online store will begin taking pre-orders on Monday 10th May. The 16GB iPad will carry a suggested retail price of £429, while the 32GB version will cost £499 and the 64GB is £599. The 3G-enabled models will be priced at £529 for 16GB, £599 for 32GB and £699 for 64GB."
Anyone remember when the prices for the USA were first announced and Apple said they'd built wiggle room into the prices, so that they could lower them if it didn't sell? Makes those prices stick in my throat a bit!
