Ah right, mine was very hit and miss with other dogs. You will never tire them out no matter how far you walk.

My Mom has a Labrador and when he and my nephews are running around the place it all goes well till they make it to the kitchen, then all you hear is a scrambling of claws and a CRASH as he slides into the cupboards

Beagle looks lovely, always liked them. I've gotta wait till at least next year for a dog when we move from our apt, we're likely to go down the Golden Retriever route and call it Max. Common name but it's in honour of my Nan's old dog, best dog I've ever known who was a cross between a Retriever and a Collie and absolutely nuts but loving.
